If you can't implement a screen pass or some kind of easy completion to get a player in space, you have some serious problems or some serious stubbornness from the coaching staff.
Again, its random, but watch the video I linked in the original post. If you can't do that like every other team...
CPJ is really costing himself easy yards and keeping the defense more honest if you can't execute a damn screen pass... GTECH should be particularly suited for it because it requires good blocking from WR's.
Now, your point about requiring a strong arm and a quicker release... that is fair...
Watch any other college football team and you will see a heavy dose of WR screens and RB screen passes... A lot of these teams who put up big pass numbers get a huge chunk of that on quick screens. Some teams like Oklahoma probably throw screens 10-20 times per game.. It's just getting players...
Kliff Kingsbury, lol... Coach Bro is actually the perfect example of why blaming the option makes no sense.
Nobody throws more than Texas Tech... why are they 4-8? 5-7? 6-7? Etc. They have a high flying offense, score points, etc. Why can't they beat good teams?
The answer is simple.... there...
I am not making excuses, I am just saying it's difficult to lose your best players especially at that position. This should have been an 8 win team (regular season), and they won 7. The USF game being the total dud that got away.
8 win team in a "so so" season with significant injuries is a...
Do howard and Mason do "fine"? Yes.... But they aren't all ACC talent like Benson. They can't make the dive play deadly... They can't break it to the outside for a big play. They are also significantly easier to tackle than Benson and Mills. Neither one of them can individually run for 1,500...
1.) Dedrick Mills, who would have been All ACC had to be kicked off the team. He would have been here still
2.) Kirvonte Benson... Again, All ACC... Didn't play. He can break 70 yards runs on dive plays, plus it's hard to tackle him. Mason and Howard can't. He didn't play this year due to...
Georgia is 11-1... Probably has 15 guys who will play in the NFL... their LBs are 6'4'' 255 freaks of nature who run faster than anyone Tech has.
If anyone thinks firing CPJ is going to change that you are kidding yourselves.
End of the day..... The only bad loss this team had was South...
Your last sentence... totally agree. That should have been a TD and it looked like he gave about 20% effort on that.
But for those of you that think this isn't a nice win... what's the big deal? The team is 7-4 (and should be 8-3) and that was a really talented Virginia team they beat tonight...
Also.... so much for the theory that Wells is accurate on short kicks and doesn't have much of a leg. He nailed that 48 yarder with plenty of leg.
Kid still hasn't missed.
Good game... great win... 7-4.
Virginia played awesome defense all night... The decision to go for it on 4th instead of kick an easy field goal earlier in the game made it a little more complicated.
I was thinking the opposite.... Snapping at 2 seconds instead of 14 seconds would tell me I have faith in them to execute the play. Now, it tells me I don't have confidence in my defense to get a stop, but I am limiting my own possessions by draining the clock, which makes the play they are...
I have seen this in a few Georgia Tech games this year, and noticed it around the country as well. Nobody is draining the clock in critical situations.
Against North Carolina... tie game. 8:00 left. Snapped with 10 seconds left on first and second down, 8 seconds left on 3rd down... 9 seconds...
Georgia Tech is 6-4
Army won Saturday to improve to 8-2
Air Force won Saturday to go to 4-6... They will need to beat Colorado State and Wyoming to get to a bowl
Navy is 2-8 this year, really struggling.. Worst season since 2002. Horrible defense but they also tried to fix something that was't...
Yep, dig the example... People thinking Lincoln Riley is some kind of genius. He is part of the Leach tree, and the last National Championship OU won was with the Leach system. Then they tried to get away from it for a long time, and now they are back to it.
The flip side of the question...
