FTRS With a good interview of Brandon Gaudin

If you ever get a chance to go to Hudson Grill and see the radio show, you should do it. I went to probably 8 of those last year and they were a blast. The behind the scenes stuff that isn't on radio is great.

    Predicted depth chart

I feel whether the D makes a good sized leap from last year is dependent on JHD. A disruptive force at DT is enough to totally transform a defense. Gotsis is a high effort guy and plays from first snap to last without a letdown. His endurance and motor are his greatest qualities. However, he is...

from JOL, audio interview with Justin Thomas

Wow. Thanks for that. Can you say leadership skills? I am so proud he is a Jacket!

    Preseason All-ACC Team

Wow. That is a lot of supposition. How many points did they score with him in the game? 3? Personally, I think we win, either way. He may have given them a better chance, but you are talking about a 22 point swing just because of a single guy. Climpson beat some teams with the other QB at the...

    Brad Stewart is an athlete

This thread doesn't have to explode. That 4 secs of video speaks for itself. He is explosive off the ground.

Are the 2014 and 2015 OLs Bigger, Better, or Both?

JeT runs the option faster and generally makes good reads. There is little doubt this has helped the line. He also has way better pocket presence and escapability from the pass rush than his predecessors. I believe our line is better, but having Smoove back there has multiplied the effect.

    Great piece on CPJ

I really do like Campbell and his film. He is a pretty special athlete. It will be interesting to see how he adjusts to the speed of the game. Certainly, it is not time to quit on Jordan for QB. But, at the same time, it is obvious that he has not adjusted while making the jump. I am not saying...

Are the 2014 and 2015 OLs Bigger, Better, or Both?

The guys we are putting on the field right now (uncluding last year) are bigger and more physical. I feel sure of that. I am too lazy to go back and look at the stats. In any case, I don't think reading the bios or looking at depth charts is going to reveal much. I am not a huge believer in...

Are the 2014 and 2015 OLs Bigger, Better, or Both?

I thought there was a good discussion going on in "CPJ SEZ" that got off the original topic. Quite possibly, it should be continued. This is the place to do it. Personally, I think it is a little bit of both. IMHO the frames of the kids up front are certainly a little more imposing. We recently...

Media Selects GT to Win Coastal; JT Picked 3rd for Preseason MVP

Justin was probably the most important player in the ACC, LAST season. It is just that the nature of what we do camoflages his impact a little. We ran, quite possibly, the most dominant offense in the last quarter century of CFB. There is no way that happens without JeT pulling the trigger. If...

I am surprised nobody has mentioned Jamal Golden. IMHO he deserves to be a part of the conversation.

    wide receiver skills

[QUOTis="Boomergump, post: 157593, member: 639"]After reading the entire Brad Stewart thread (which I considered abbreviating to BS) I ask each of you to indulge me. Below, I have posted a list of critical WR skills. Taking good physical blocking skills as a given, place the following traits in...

Having seen him in the spring game, I will eat my hat if he is under 280. My best guess is 290.

Points/Drive vs. Power 5 (long post)

I like the breakdown. When you consider that our offense was historically good, in terms of efficiency, it shows what a little development in the defense would mean. Still though, out playing the P5 opposition by a point per drive is pretty impressive.

    It.

What I like about JT the most is that he doesn't pretend to be somebody he is not. He doesn't fawn for the camera or the microphone. He doesn't demand to be "the guy". He gets the ball to the player that the flow of the play dictates. He doesn't shy from the moment. He doesn't make situations...

I can't get excited about this year's offense

Yup, it is a whole lot easier to play agressively on the edges when you don't have to bring 6 to get pressure. I understand why CTR was hesitant early in games to bring the CBs up. If we were bringing 4, the QB had all kinds of time for double-move routes to develop etc. That can be dangerous...
