I could make the same argument though about us being unproven on offense. I like the speed that JT brings to the QB position but I SERIOUSLY worry about how often he fumbles. I don't care what kind of potential he has; if he puts the ball on the ground quite a few times, then CPJ will play...
I sure hope I'm wrong but I really wonder how much of a chance we have against them. It just seems that they have reached the same level of talent gap between us that UGA enjoys.
I wasn't passing judgement one way or the other. I was simply trying to guess what he meant and that was the only explanation I could potentially think of.
You and I will just have to disagree. When I put a couple of grand into season tickets and annual donations to a school, I'm afraid I'm going to form my own opinions about what I expect to receive for that money.
How so? You don't believe that a fan who buys season tickets has the right to expect more than .500 football over the past 4 years?
If that's the definition of entitlement, then by all means put me at the top of the list.
That's a really good point about how little things can make the big difference in seasons. Thinking about this made me remember the 2009 Wake Forest game.
We're in overtime with the ball and WF has already kicked a field goal.
4th and 1 at the 5 yard line. Nesbitt convinces CPJ he can get...
Fair point. But when your defense DOES give up TDs and your return team blows, then all you're doing is making it that much harder from a field position standpoint for your defense for the next time.
If only it were so simple. A read route often has 3 options. First option is the designated route...let's say it's a 12 yard skinny post. However, if the safety on your side is inside the nearside hash marks as you come shoulder-to-shoulder with the corner playing press coverage, you are...
No, the coaches are handling this one perfectly and I didn't mean to insinuate otherwise. I was just simply pointing out that he isn't a 100% guarantee. Although everything I have heard points towards the young man doing exactly what he is supposed to do & is right on track to be here in the fall.
Maybe he just saved 15% on car insurance!
LOL, just kidding. Glad to see the positive attitude. I do think he has the potential to help this year on special teams. Put him back there with Golden and you have 2 electric kick returners.
That happened last year during the Virginia Tech game, too.
And the "majority" of players don't hate CPJ. Most of them like him a lot.
I've made it clear that I'm not a huge fan of CPJ's offense, but the guy absolutely does care about his players and that is clear and evident to them...
I would guess the biggest thing that has the coaches on edge right now is Whitehead. He has to graduate this summer with an overload of classes to be eligible to play in the fall. By all accounts, he is on track to do so but it's not a guaranteed certainty. Now, if he doesn't qualify and get...
LOL, nope. Only met him one time but he seemed like a really nice guy.
I will say this though: he was one of those kinds of guys who had an energy about him that was infectious. I don't think he was irreplaceable but he certainly was one of those guys who could be a motivator.
Paul's players don't hate him. As a general rule, most of them like him. But to be fair, do you honestly think that RamblinWreck.com would publish an article from a player saying that CPJ was a son of a b***h?
Snoddy's inability to pick up the blitz is going to hamper his chances at B-back.
Perkins could do it, but with his bad shoulder, I'm not sure they want him taking that many hits.
CJ Leggett is probably going to be forced into playing as a B-back very quickly this year.
Scholarships are one year awards. There is no guarantee of four or five years.
Again I will mention that losing scholarships happens to several players at every D1 school, even Tech, in baseball every year. Why some of you want to treat football players differently is interesting to me.
