  1. Film Room The Summer Push VT Play 19 and 20

A pitch on play 20 is a big gain.
  2. Film Room The Summer Push VT Play 14

MJ and LJ. TM and JJ are faster. Although there is a small difference.
  3. Film Room The Summer Push VT Play 14

Yea, Mills will not give them any choice. And if our new QBs learn to read and pitch our outside game will flourish. All our ABs can make the big play and even our two slowest QBs have proved that in a game situation. I expect big things from our run game if our OL stays healthy.
  4. 2009 Play... I have not seen since...

Martin is holding his ground but Bryan turns him to create an alley. Henderson is driven way back by Lee who is really quick off the ball and actually beats the snap count on this play. Nice pull and block by Braun. Henderson is so far backed up he cuts off 9 from pursuit, although 9 stepped up...
  5. Film Room The Summer Push Play 8

Great effort by BM. Got wiped out by he BB, got up, found the ball, and made the hit for very little gain.
  6. Been thinking about the Searcy TD against uga

If you watch Jet after the rocket toss on first down he was wide open for a throwback to him. CPJ probably saw that and filed it away for later. (For some reason UGA was not fooled on third down and Jet was covered.) Also on first down the BB stopped at the LOS and drew no coverage. On the...
  7. Film Room The Summer Push Play 7

This type blitz against our O is all too familiar. Was not Lee supposed to block down on the LB blitz (BM). BM was lined up across from the gap he blitzed and he moved on the snap. If not Lee who is supposed to account for BM blitz?
  8. Film Room The Summer Push Play 6

Our DTs 54 and 99 are really getting driven back, 5-8 yards. 31 and 80 are staying after their blocks. 17 made the tackle look easy. 93 grew roots on this play. 50 cuts off 9 very well. It was too easy getting 93 and 51 blocked and their pursuit to the playside was too late too slow. 75 eat 54...
  9. Unleashing CTR's Defense

    Branch maybe.
  10. Target on Mills opens up the field

Mill's threat (because he is such a load to tackle) should help the QB with his first read. If the DE has Mills he will have to not ***** foot around when Mills comes his way , and this should help the QB make that first read.
  11. I AM AFRAID!!!!

I definitely agree with the "leveling the playing field and putting emphasis back on skill and strategy". I believe it could make a better game. Imagine Alabama for instance with 250 lb DTs like everybody else!
  12. I AM AFRAID!!!!

If the discussion is limited to concussions the solution at this time is not obvious. But if the discussion is about overall injuries the solution is weight limitation . The big difference in size among the players has a lot to do with injury. I do not want to see weight limits, but I really do...
  13. Georgia Tech Players Doing Georgia Tech Things

I had the good fortune to sit next to Tim Seager's parents at the opening game at BDS in 2013. Very nice folks. They are from the Blacksburg area and Tim had hoped to walk on at VT. The coaches there did not think he was a fit for their program, even as a walk on, and Tim looked elsewhere for...
  14. Spring game

Safeties Kagawa, Campbell, and Johnson did not play in the Spring Game so we had walk-ons and Lbs in that White deep secondary. Late in the game they permitted long pass completions for TDs to Gantt and Swilling.... probably not a good representation of our D2 defense.
  15. Does KirVonte Benson

KB was used a lot as a receiver in HS. He can catch and run. Blocking maybe TBD. He looks good at BB but needs to learn not to run backward when the play blows up. He has a really good knack for starting in a hole and side stepping laterally a hole over for daylight. IMO he will be strongest on...
  16. If I Were Coach For a Day

Like most of you I have no inside information, Have seen no practices or off season drills, cannot control future injuries or attrition, cannot predict when Jordan is 100%, and will know little about the upcoming offseason or Fall Camp. I was at the Spring Game and have watched the complete...
  17. CPJ on Jay Jones

I like a 2 QB split where (if MJ starts) the other QB comes in on 3rd or 4th with 7 yards or more to go. The short yardage (less than 7) QB would already be in the game. Dodd masterfully used two QBs quite often to great success. These 4 QBs this year puts us in a unique situation to give the...
  18. CPJ on Jay Jones

Green is a Sr but Lynch and Searcy are just Jrs. Marshall and Jones would make really good ABs but time is running out on Marshall (Jr) waiting on ABs to graduate.
  19. Tech fans looking forward to the future- Ga fans beware!!!

Agree completely. At least this year we have committees of 5 DTs ( Branch, Adams, C-Henderson, Glanton, and Martin) and 5 DEs (Freeman, Simmons, St Amour, Merriweather, and Vernon) to stay fresh and are some insurance against injury/attrition, a better situation than we have been in for a...
