One more team/result comparison. BC beat UMass 26-7. The same UMass team that was only down 10-7 in the 4th qtr to the Fla Gators in the swamp the previous week. While they ended up losing 24-7, they gave Fla fits. This past week Fla crushed another SEC team Kentucky, 45-7 in a game that was...
One thing to add to Glenn's comments - BC wanted this game very very badly. Their last ACC Win was November 2014. The were desperate not to start the season off with a Loss. From the preseason comments it was pretty obvious they were not preparing for the 2016 season as much as they were...
With all the injuries last year to starters, I think Byerly's injury may have cost as as much as any of them. Without an experienced backup, JT tried to do to much and was physically worn out by seasons end. TM's progress at QB is one of the best pieces of news in some time.
If Jt is 5'11" then Philpott would be 6'5" at least. Think JT is more like 5'9" though. Still it seems Philpott has indeed added an inch or two from the listed 6'3". Awesome.
Hate this for TB - his name should be listed under the definition of team player. One immediate negative impact is that we will have to spend more time getting JT's backup ready during practice - subtracting from specific game plans.
While the athleticism of this years recruits seem to be exceptional, the equally important quality of character also seems to be very high.
Compare with this story on LSU football players arrests...
I believe Skov could be the x factor this year. The transition from high school to college is not just physical but also emotional for an 18 year old. Patrick is physically more than ready and will not be awed by GT or the big city. After Stanford, academics will not be overwhelming and he will...
Looking at the two main AJC stories that came out on the same day, I think we are much better shape than if Dennis remained in the team, but Snoddy's recovery was not going well - not to mention the other players who are returning from injury. As Monty Python would say " Always look on the...
one issue people seem to be overlooking is that a month ago, the depth chart was issued and Dennis was not on the two deep. His response seems to have been to break team rules for a 2nd (3rd) time. This indicates to me that there may have been an ongoing issue. None of us know the actual reason...
Snoddy and Ike are a solid 1,2. I really like what I saw of Ike during cleanup time - deceptively quick and a solid blocker. Think he will surprise a lot of people. Need at least 2 others to step up.
having Deandre going to the miners in the 4th just puts a smile on my face. Deandre's and Snoddy's injuries were about the only real negatives last year.
Think Ike will be the #2 or #3 A back come Fall depending on Snoddy's status. He does not have blazing speed but is elusive and is a solid blocker. Continuing the Godhigh tradition.
