That was the Wing-T. That IS a HS offense. It's actually not even close to what we run, other than some have adapted the midline as part of their system. Base formation looks similar to the average fan, but trust me it's not even close.
  2. Rhett Lashlee

Excuse me, let me adjust my examples to laser timed 40's for you. It's harder to read a defensive end who runs a 4.8 than it is to read a HS DE who runs a 5.4 forty.
  3. Rhett Lashlee

Let me spell it out for you. ITS TO HARD TO CONSISTENTLY READ A DEFENSIVE END WITH GOOD SPEED. IT TAKES 3 YEARS FOR A QB TO LEARN CPJ'S VERSION OF THE SYSTEM. BTW hardly any Georgia HS's run the flexbone anymore.
  4. I want a run first pro style offense

You obviously don't understand what goes into game planning and coaching if you don't think that different coaches don't matter. If you think that our offense has been on an upward trend since 2009, you are a fool. Stats get padded by the FCS schools and Syracuses of the world. How fast we...
  5. Rhett Lashlee

It's a lot easier for a qb to read a DE who runs a 5.1 forty (HS) than one who runs a 4.6 (FBS).
  6. I want a run first pro style offense

Because it was against 2 different coaching staffs at UNC. Nice try.
  7. I want a run first pro style offense

Agree that the TO is not the answer, but...No pro style offense! We need a spread offense along the lines of Baylor, Oregon, Clemson/Auburn.
  8. Rhett Lashlee

Blocking rules are simpler, qb zone reads are very simple, qb passing reads are very simple. The more simple your reads are, the less chance of making a mistake. That same offense turned Auburn around from last place in the conference to conference champs and national runner up. And they did...
  9. Rhett Lashlee

It's called "predetermined reads." Get your head out of the sand.
  10. Rhett Lashlee

Desuan Watson will most likely end up starting. Modern spread offenses are a lot easier to learn for players. In turn they can play faster and be more athletic. Also you see a lot fewer mistakes.
  11. Rhett Lashlee

And he will do just as well with a true freshman starting at QB this year. Why because his system is QB friendly and not this calculus on grass crap that takes our qbs 3 seasons to learn. Clemson's offense will still put up great numbers without Boyd, Watkins, and crew. Guaranteed. It's...

Can only reply to one at a time hoss.
  13. Rhett Lashlee

So how many slot receivers are you going to have on the field at one time? Need slot WRs with great hands when you throw as much as Hatcher does. Not guys with "good hands for a RB."
  14. Rhett Lashlee

But you already have defensive players. Are you just going to play short on offense? That's my point!

  16. Rhett Lashlee

What other position could Robbie Godhigh, Tony Zenon, etc play in another system?
  17. Rhett Lashlee

No CPJ made his living off of a well recruited pro style roster. Not a big difference between a pro style and TO roster from a personel standpoint. Hatcher is not pro style BTW.
  18. Rhett Lashlee

What is Hatcher going to do with 8 a backs and 4 B backs, when he runs a 1 back system? Much easier to go from pro style to TO, than from TO to a 4/5 wide spread. Pro style will have 3-4 FB's and 4-5 RBs. Sign 3 A backs and you are set. Spread coach has to wait for all of the a backs to...
  19. Rhett Lashlee

Hatcher was trying to run a wide open passing attack with a roster full of Triple Option style players. It takes about 4 years to cycle that out. Hatcher wasn't there long enough. So when CPJ finally hits the road, the next coach is screwed.
  20. Defending the Flexbone

Conventional wisdom used to be to slow play the option, which is how teams used to play us and did play the wishbone. DLine played laterally with a read and react scheme. After getting eaten up by the flexbone doing this, defenses have started attacking, and taking us out of rythymn. Randy...
