I agree I think an attacking style defense that occasionally gives up the big play works out much better in our favor than bend don't break. Our offense thrives on wearing down the other teams front 7 and playing aggressive and getting the offense back on the field works out to our advantage for...
Seems like normal coach speak for the 2nd day of practice in pads. Wasn't overly critical just saying they weren't close to where he wants the team to be. I would be more concerned if he wasn't looking for more. We'll be able to read a lot more into his comments at the end of next week. Right...
They look like they swapped weights. Still both look like they would be better on the edge, but Kelton looks like he has the frame to put a lot of good weight on.
On Defense my money is on Antonio Simmons. He was a step to slow from a lot of sacks last year and if he's improved any I could see him having 8-10 by the end of the year. http://www.ajc.com/sports/college/tech-antonio-simmons-has-lofty-personal-goal/8ZL2WO1JRE8bAgByj8qCkO/
Offensively I think...
Kentucky was sold out on taking away the rocket toss and outside plays all day. Just look at how hard 27 comes crashing down. Really nice route by Searcy if he keeps his feet it's an easy 6. We had a lot of uncharacteristic drops in that game otherwise we probably would've put at least 2 more...
They feel like it makes them more of a contributor to the team wins. My money brought X player here instead of there and he mad the difference in a couple games. Also the subtle brag about having enough money to throw around is a big one at brag fests.
Watched the full game last night App State was able to drive it up the middle and outside on misdirection plays until their passing game faltered in the 2nd half. If we can keep Tennessee honest it could be a huge day up the middle.
Jeune basically kept 3 men out of the play with his block on the edge. We're going to miss Willis and his blocks. One of the unsung heroes of the edge play last year.
Been going through all of Tennessee's 2016 football games on youtube while I'm getting thing done around the house and the Appalachian State game is a good one to watch to get an idea of Tennessee dealing with the option and cutblocks. App gave a lot of option looks out of the shotgun in that game.
Wow it looks like #70 Will was shot out of a cannon to get 7 yards downfield to get a block. Made the play go for an extra 5 yards and a first down. Scary to be a defender and see that coming for you with bad intentions.
Should've been stopped for no gain. Nebraska had numbers on the running back, but it looks like 91 made the wrong read on where the ball was and took himself out of the play and 1 got lead feet on the cut up field.
He also had a good one on the double move with Stewart early against Duke. He saw them in warm ups aggressively attacking hook routes and had Stewart run a stop and go and the defender bit so hard he was wide open down the sideline...
Don't see a us winning less than 7 unless something crazy happens. Too many teams in the coastal lost a lot more than us, and we had a lot of young guys get starts that should look a lot better in year 2 (Mills, Cooper, Braun, Lee).
Looks like the schedule will be out tomorrow at 2 pm. http://miami.247sports.com/Article/Miami-ACC-to-Release-2017-Football-Schedule-on-Tuesday-50751813
I think next year being able to do a midline behind Devine or Braun will give other teams nightmares on Sunday. I'd hate to be lined up across from either of those guys. Hoping he gets healthy and has a great senior season!
