Georgia Tech has hired Josh Pastner

I really question this hire. Pastner has more baggage than a fully loaded 747.

Mott Makes Splash In AA Debut

FYI, Mott Hyde drove in both runs for Corpus Christi (AA Astros affiliate) in their 2-0 opening day win over Tulsa last night. The first RBI came on a big solo shot, second RBI drove in a runner from second with a sharp single up the middle. Last time I saw Mott was with the Jackets in 2012...

    The Search

Gotta admit I like Drew more the more I learn about him. Impeccable basketball pedigree, NBA playing experience, and his Valpo team plays tough. But he's pretty much got a job for life there if he wants it. Hope the suspense is resolved shortly one way or another. I agree with kg01 -...

    Polls

I get the feeling Baseball America consistently ranks us lower than NCBBWA, Collegiate Baseball, etc. Haven't done any data gathering on this, but BA had us lower than NCBBWA in the last poll, and IIRC, that's par for the course when we're good enough to hit the top 25.

A Note to Those That Think We Have a High School Offense

I say we crowdfund the freshman year at GT for jeffgt's eloquent little princess.

    reporter on msnbc

I wondered if anyone would post on this. I did a doubletake when I saw him, because Kornacki is from Massachusetts & made his journalistic bones in New Jersey. That jacket looks like the one I bought at B&N/GT last April, so I think it's stylistically correct, IronJacket.

GT OUT OF CONFERENCE OPPONENTS 2016

Like that Jet linebacker said in the on-field interview a few years back: "Can't wait!"

Is signing day the most important?

Ok, cheese, replace 'slightly modified' with 'first cousin to'. Point is, our offense is seen as (or is) behind the times.

Is signing day the most important?

Georgia Tech is all about innovation. We specialize in the future. And yet our football team runs a slightly modified version of the wishbone, which is what we ran when I graduated forty years ago. To quote Harry Caray, "I just can't figure it out."

Where would the learned of you place Adam ( I got this!) Gotsis

I recall a great comment on Perdoni by Assistant Coach **** Bestwick: "He's not big enough, but he doesn't know it." Fine college player in the 70s, but everybody's so much bigger now. Gotsis has been our best quite a while. Just remember how much better the line was with him in the game...

    Engineering a new building

This hoops program definitely needs an enema, but can we afford the cleanup afterwards? Not a good situation, and I don't know an easy way out. Maybe we take a chance on a young, relatively unknown HC, then bring his pay up as the program becomes competitive in the acc.

    GO NAVY!

Call Army-Navy the Flex Bowl these days. For my money, the best single rivalry game in college football - Clean, Old-Fashioned Patriots!

    Time for a coaching Change

Wow, I take off for a week, and when I come back, I find a thread that reads like standard ST fare. Cue 'Twilight Zone' theme. Glad I was unable to watch the VT game - sounds like we went Pepperidge Farm.

how many times have you watched the blocked kick and Lance?

Just like Nov 1, 2008, except I'm not @ BDS. The kids hit the field, and I sit down and cry like a baby. Life is good, very good.

Film Study Film Study - Offense vs Duke

Kudos to Boomer and the other posters in this thread for the well articulated, reasonable takes on the performance of our O-line. However, I prefer to react to these disasters with depression and sullen anger. Stop trying to placate me with reason and common sense!

    Very proud of Defense

Kudos to a much-maligned GT defense. Other side of the ball got schooled, but skill players are young, season is young, and we are undefeated in the ACC. Let's go whack the Dookies.

    A Lesson in History

Don't care how good the other teams are. We have a first class athlete and leader under center, the team buys into the offensive system, and the defense is improved. Carpe diem, indeed.

    After CPJ...

Bigb, I agree there's no doubt Godsey's pointed the NFL way now. If he and Bill O'Brien revitalize the Houston Texans offense, the Goose will be an NFL HC candidate for sure. But NFL HC jobs don't often come open on good teams. It's always the Browns or the Raiders or the Bucs, and those...
