FYI, Mott Hyde drove in both runs for Corpus Christi (AA Astros affiliate) in their 2-0 opening day win over Tulsa last night. The first RBI came on a big solo shot, second RBI drove in a runner from second with a sharp single up the middle.

Last time I saw Mott was with the Jackets in 2012. He had some pop in his bat then, too.

He was line drive and power hitting SS with a high batting avg at Calhoun. I am not sure what happened at Tech, but he didn't put up the numbers he's capable of putting up. He's doing well right now. Hoping he shows up in the bigs one day.

'Fraid Mott's been struggling since his debut. He went 1 for 19 after that, then 4 for his next 8, then got ice cold again.
He's currently right at the Mendoza Line and has fewer hits than strikeouts. They were alternating him with another 2nd baseman, but Corpus's shortstop tweaked a hammy, so Mott has stepped in at short for a week or two. Hope it jumpstarts his bat. The Astros organization is talented in the middle infield - Jose Altuve at 2B and Carlos Correa at SS, and their top non-pitching prospect is the injured SS Mott is standing in for.
