I have a different take on this recruiting stuff, especially as it relates to the old regime.
Recruiting - Current
When you run the same system that everyone else runs, you have to have equal players to be as good, or better players to be better. Not that complicated.
How many players equal...
Long post here, so forgive me... Let me see if I can convince someone... If I assume Braun was leaving anyway.... The team is 5-1 with Ken or Monken.
QB: Tobias Oliver
Appeared in 12 games but made only one start in place of injured starter TaQuon Marshall – Oct. 25 at Virginia Tech … Despite...
Their defense looks pretty good, especially run defense. Georgia Tech is pretty inept passing, and if Miami shuts down the run Tech will punting all day. GT ranks near dead last in a few passing stats nationally, and Miami stuffs the run.
#7 in the nation in rush defense. Only allow 2.6 yards...
Willie Fritz doesn't run the triple option, but is used to this kind of personnel. Of course, the best option was Monken or Niumatalolo. Do that and the team is 5-1 right now.
Not tanking your program for 3 years should have been a legitimate consideration. Lots of damage can occur in 2-3...
Graham ranks last or near last nationally in completion percentage and passing efficiency... And the defense is a problem apparently. They need to run the ball more because passing has been terrible. Some of the stats are even skewed... When you are winning a game 38-7 the whole dynamic of that...
Lee,
Not a bad argument, I'm just not sure it's supported by the facts. Take this as an example....
Army, Navy, and Air Force are all top 39 in total defense this year. Air Force is at 21, and Navy is at 16. How is that possible?
Florida State is #118... Colorado#123.. Boston College#121...
Collins is 16-15 as a head coach, meaning he will likely have a losing record by seasons end... How many other ACC coaches have losing records on their careers?
You have to remember that Fritz took over a program that was trying to run a pro style passing offense... He had to convert it back to a spread option.
Tulane has the #14 scoring offense in the country, and the #4 rushing offense in the country.
There isn't a single doubt in my mind that...
I don't believe that for a second... Put Jahaziel Lee and Parker Braun back on the offensive line, and the offensive line is VERY good for an option attack... Tobias Oliver is an excellent option quarterback, so he was set at the most important position on the field. Then he would have had...
Citadel just got beat by a Virginia Military Institute that Marshall beat by 50 points. That loss keeps looking worse. Might be the worst loss in Georgia Tech history, and the worst loss in the country this year.
If they played again I suspect GT would win though.
Yea he passed for 376 yards, but he also had something like 55 attempts... The problem isn't his yardage total, it's the total amount of plays they ran. That is a direct reflection of the inept offense that can't keep the defense off the field. They ran about 100 plays.
One of the advantages...
Ok, so we can establish that as true. So how does this help Alabama? They can't pay the player. The player has to be marketable and get his own endorsement deals, etc.
Also, this notion that it will help blue blood schools seems weird to me as well. The same schools compete for the national...
I am confused... It doesn't say the school can pay players, right? It just says they can make their own money. Get endorsement deals, etc.
If Georgia Tech has the best running back in the country, he is free to pursue an endorsement deal with Nike or whatever.. Be in commercials. That isn't...
Took a look at this UNC QB everyone is talking about....
Sam Howell - 6'1'' 225
4 star player out of high school. #1 QB out of North Carolina.. #3 pro style QB in the country.
I watched his highlights vs Miami and South Carolina... the guy looks damn good. Has a gun, makes good decisions...
