Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Geoff Collins is 24-35 as a head coach. Which P5 coach has a worse record? I'd be curious to see that.

Transfer Portal: Who's Coming and Going (2022 Roster)

Speaking of.... Air Force ran the ball 69 plays in a row this weekend and scored 48 points... Love it

    Staff Changes

If they don't hire Zach Kittley from Western Kentucky I am going to lose my ****.... You've got next-gen Leach/Kingsbury/Lincoln Riley sitting there. Throw the kitchen sink at him. He will produce immediate results. They just went 8-4 and totally lit up the scoreboard, including against major teams.

    Gameday!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can honestly say I have never seen a tight end outrun an entire secondary like that... He flew past everyone. I thought it was a wide receiver.

    Gameday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Option 1: Fire the coordinators and bring in new blood on offense and defense. Those recommendations were made in another thread. Option 2: Keep the staff in place and see if you can get a bunch of talent in recruiting and in the portal this year and improve as is Option 3: Fire Collins and...

    Gameday!!!!!!!!!!!!

The good news is, t hey are doing better than they did against Notre Dame.

    OC and DC replacement thoughts!!

When Zach Kittley's offense played Indiana this year... they had 460 yards of offense. When they played a really good and ranked UTSA team, they had 670 yards of offense, including 523 passing yards. When they played an undefeated (at the time) Michigan State team... they had 560 yards of...

    Gameday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tech putting up absolutely no resistance. They are just picking up chunk after chunk. Gonna be 17-0 here pretty quick.

    OC and DC replacement thoughts!!

So Kittley is #18 on that list (Georgia Tech is #78) And Reeves is #73 (Georgia Tech is #109) Looks good to me. Of course, Kittley would bring the Air Raid with him. Georgia Tech would start throwing for about 450 a game. It's a talent equalizer, similar to the option. As proven by Mike Leach.

    Being "10 points away"

Yea this logic doesn't add up... A few examples: The difference between a guy who runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds vs 8.5 seconds is incredible. Those 4 seconds are significant. The talent and capability it takes to shoot 70, as opposed to 80, is like being in a different universe. I can shoot 80...

    OC and DC replacement thoughts!!

Offensive Coordinator: Zach Kittley from Western Kentucky (#3 offense in college football this year) Defensive Coordinator: David Reeves from UAB (top 10 total defense nationally in 2018, 2019, and 2020)

Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Sure, I will clarify. This is based on a belief I have that Monken will deliver more consistent results running the option than "any coach" running a more traditional system. For example, I believe with every fiber of my being that Monken, at Georgia Tech, would have beaten Northern Illinois...

Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Luckily Kansas went with Lance Leipold and Illinois went with Bret Bielema. Jeff Monken finishing second for both jobs. This is a gift for Georgia Tech should they want to go back in that direction. Monken lost on the road at Wisconsin (a top 20 team) by 6, and put up 600 yards of offense on a...

Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

I've been an open advocate of continuing the triple option, and think Monken is the best man for the job.... But let me break down your questions in what I believe to be a fair way. Of course Georgia Tech has better talent than NIU. And they would have had better talent than NIU under Monken...

Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Jeff Monken.... End of story. Hell, we could still savage the season. Tobias Oliver is still on the team. Bring him in this afternoon... install 7 plays... And they will beat Kennesaw 60-10 next week. Tobias will run for 250... 1.) Inside Veer 2.) Load Option 3.) QB Follow 4.) Rocket Toss...

Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

How do I know that? Because he was in Atlanta today beating the crap out of a team 43-10 (on the road).... A team that is better than Northern Illinois.... with players who couldn't even get scholarship offers from Northern Illinois or Georgia Tech.... The last time Georgia Tech had a competent...

A Thread to Rehash GT HC Comparisons

Didn't need Gibbs or Sims. Had Oliver for 3 years with Graham and Yates behind him. Had Jordan Mason, Jerry Howard, Kirvonte Benson, Dontae Smith, Christian Malloy, and Tony Amerson loaded up at the back positions. Of course, with the system change you need Gibbs and Sims. But you didn't need...

    GT - ND postgame thread

New plan.... Form a new league of similar schools. Georgia Tech Duke Boston College Virginia Vanderbilt Stanford Northwestern Notre Dame Cal-Berkley BYU Look, now trying to beat Clemson isn't relevant. Problem solved.
