Yeah, but what were the seat allotment numbers for the UGA game. I am sure they probably had a hard time finding more than 10k available seats in the cesspool.
I said it isn't any more monumental than several other transitions that have happened in college football and that the transition from the option wasn't really relevant, but nice try. I'm not wrong, you just can't read well.
And that has never happened in any other transition? It happened when CPJ took over the first time and that was after all this famous recruiting by Collins.
Look lack of depth and being forced to play stopgap players happens all the time during transitions programs. Thanks for playing. You're...
So now part of the problem is injuries. Is it safe to say that would apply during any transition and not just confined to one coming from an option offense? Deleterious? Haha
Haha, you're putting words "in my mouth" as much or more. My original point is that the transition isn't any more "monumental" in any significant way than many other coaching transitions. When did I say it was going to be "smooth"?
Our OL and DL deficiencies for a conventional offense are absolutely due to the offense (really more the OL only - I think DL is really a function of tragedy more than anything else).
But even so, how is having an OL/DL that is deficient due to running the option any different than one that is...
Fair enough. I personally think I haven't seen evidence of what I would call good coaching, but neither have I seen evidence of bad coaching. It's been meh or meh-bad-at-times. I thought and still think that we should be better, but that doesn't mean that this staff is bad.
For me, if we're not...
They should run the schemes they know. Keep it simple at first and expand. From my POV as a fan it seems like the biggest schematic issues at first were simply trying to do too much (other than normal growing pains of new systems).
I agree OL and DL are critical. It's also critical they fit your scheme. On the defensive side, we are no different than any other program changeover where you are missing some key pieces - I think you would agree that's happened a lot in CFB.
On the offensive side, we need to change over from...
Look, I'm not saying it won't take time, but you guys act like having to turn a roster over has never happened in college football. It doesn't really matter if it's coming from an option or not.
Collins should be given 3 years to succeed, that's it. Even if he had zero players on the roster...
Who cares what offense you come from. It doesn't really matter if you have to turn the roster over to fit the new scheme. The exact type of transition may be different, but the scope of it isn't - and that's what actually matters. Unless of course you think that GT now is worse than some of the...
Not sure why the staff and the fans keep saying this. At the very worst, you cannot convince me that taking over the GT program is any worse than rebuilding say Cal or Arkansas will be or pick any other program where there is a team that's not performing well (say consistently winning 8 or 9...
I tend to agree with you - I could see the winning coastal record being 5-3, but I think UVA has an outside shot at running the table the rest of the way or only losing 1 more.
And I love the scheme and I liked CPJ's personality. It was time for him to go.
It's time for GT to start winning again - and no one is twisting my arm to listen to coaches' PCs. Here's to hoping that the press man coverage works on the nkosi Perry.
Doesn't make it less true. Not sure why you can't just admit it - which is why you take a shot every chance you get. I freely admit that I don't care for Collins' personality and I also can admit that it's most just a preference thing.
Edited to say: I personally don't care if you hate him -...
