    WTF happened...sorta rant

My old memory isn't so good with dates, but I think Curry was already here when Rice was hired. The only major Rice error that comes to mind was B*** L****.

    Coaching changes?

You are correct, JJ. I unquestionably erred in my wording. Gotsis is a perfect example of a very tough player being injured, as is Smelter.

    Coaching changes?

Look for the common denominators. Two players exemplified our 11 wins seasons under CPJ. (1) D. Thomas; (2) D. Smelter Both of them blocked extremely well downfield; they both provided a deep passing threat that cost opposing teams dearly if/when they sold out to the run; they did not require a...

    WTF happened...sorta rant

Here is what happened, IMHO: Our expectations were "irrationally exuberant." Our schedule is MUCH more difficult this year than last. Our opponents were for the most part better than last year. None of our opponents took us lightly this year; if anything, they considered this year as payback...

    Miami Postgame

Yep. It's not just one, or two, or three things that need fixing. Like I said earlier in the season, this is a perfect storm. We'll get through this one and be better for it later on. Most of our kids will grow into men a lot faster thanks to this season. I just hope most of our fans can grow...

    Snake bit....

My cynical side tells me that the Miami pro team plays to pay high salaries and make a profit while the Clemson Tigers play to pay high salaries, generate revenue, and to heck with profit...universities don't need no stinking profit.

    Snake bit....

As long as the effort is there, I'm sure not gonna pile on. We have some very good young players in the mix now and it will pay dividends when they are juniors and seniors, if not sooner. Really impressed with our RF and F today, especially Jackson, Lynch, Mitchell, and Marshall. Also, as usual...

    Green Bay

This was the first time I saw them play this year. I thought Stephens and Lammers had a good game. Jackson not so much.

Film Study - Offense vs UVA

I feel your pain, Boomer, believe me. We all do. Even so, another win over UGA would heal many, many deep wounds. Go Jackets! We may be down, but we ain't dead.

    one guy?

It's difficult to choose between Shaq and Smelter, but if I could choose only one it would be Smelter for reasons already given.

The whistle is too loud! ?!!

Seven times I have been around the world, twice on the back of a turtle, and never before have I heard or read a story as sad as this one. :bigtears:

    Justin?

This from Boomergump's earlier post: "Slumps get extended because players think too hard and try too hard. The way out is to practice with GREAT INTENSITY and FOCUS to develop muscle memory and instincts and then just relax in games." Anyone who has played golf, pitched baseball, kicked field...

    Dynasty

Bumping my own thread to post this: Georgia Tech’s golf team is in its 21st year under head coach Bruce Heppler. The Yellow Jackets have won 16 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, made 28 appearances in the NCAA Championship and been the national runner-up four times. Way to go, Bruce...

Great answer, IMHO. Didn't CPJ once say that three things can happen when you pass the ball and two of them aren't good. I can think of four, even five things that can happen on a pass play and still only one of them is good. If you are going to take those kind of odds, make sure the payoff is...

    Regarding our young guys...

I agree. These two are going to be very special, IMHO.

FIRE THE COACHES, FIRE THE PLAYERS, oh wait.. We won!!!

CPJ was likely still in a state of shock like everyone else. He and Jimbo "hug-embraced" (for lack of a better term) at midfield.
