MJ to Play More This Season -

Rudy Allen was a diabetic and an excellent QB for GA Tech back in the day. He was the "other" Rudy when we played Notre Dame during the famous "Rudy" game.

    GT in the NIT

Kinda reminds me of another mature, senior-laden team...like in football 2014.

Dennis Scott -- A GREAT representative for Georgia Tech

Yep. We knew those Jackets were special from the get-go, leaving very few doubters after defeating Shaq and LSU. Whatta game that was. And whatta year that was. I proclaimed loudly that all our head coaches from thence forth should be named Bobby. (Dodd, Ross, Cremins)

Dennis Scott -- A GREAT representative for Georgia Tech

Dennis Scott was the guy you always wanted to shoot the ball. He was so dangerous that it opened up excellent opportunities for Anderson and Oliver. With Lethal Weapon 3 every game was a track meet and we usually came out on top. The chemistry on that team was something to behold.

Change all those "ifs" to "as" and I'll feel a whole lot better, Boomer. ;)

    Jabari's Instagram post?

Dunno, but I was a little suspicious one quarter when it was reported that a drowned boy was found in the pool. Not kidding. Of course, it might have been a sick joke going around campus at the time.

    Jabari's Instagram post?

I knew what you were saying in a positive way. I was merely trying to amplify your good post. Yeah, good old Freddy. He would leave sinkers down as long as it looked like they were still alive before he would send someone down to bring them up. "Blow sucker, blow!" I still love those words in...

    Jabari's Instagram post?

Tech DEMANDED a helluva lot from me that, in turn, caused me to perform at the very top of my ability and beyond. Anything less was not acceptable nor an option. That enormous push to succeed, in turn, paid off well throughout the rest of my life. That is what Tech "gave" me. What Tech "took"...

    Jabari's Instagram post?

Amen. He had plenty of opportunity to shine his senior year.

Something is happening in Midtown Atlanta

Youngsters may not know or recall this, but the 5th street project occurred under President Wayne Clough's leadership. Midtown was becoming run down and Wayne envisioned Tech Square as a way to expand Tech while revitalizing midtown Atlanta. IMHO, 5th street ought to be renamed in recognition of...

    "Flagship Station"?

I checked Wikipedia after my quick post. My sketchy knowledge plus my memory is a little faulty, but the basic message is correct. From Wikipedia:

    "Flagship Station"?

Ah, back in the day. I still recall that station jingle: "WGST, top of the deck. WGST from Georgia Tech." As you probably already know, WGST was started and owned by Georgia Tech and GST stood for Georgia School of Technology, which was what Tech was before it became an "institute". It's...

Where would the learned of you place Adam ( I got this!) Gotsis

Interesting side note to all this: Perdoni came to us from junior college and Gotsis from Australia. IOW, we got kinda lucky in our recruiting to get these guys. Over the years, we've had to convert lots of players to the defensive line (e.g., Coleman Rudolph) simply because it hasn't been easy...

Where would the learned of you place Adam ( I got this!) Gotsis

I wouldn't argue against Perdoni, all 233 lbs. of him, but that was a different era with different support, competition, schemes, and rules. IIRC, Tech had an outstanding offensive guard during Perdoni's time that weighed all of 210 lbs. Perdoni would be a very formidable force against such...

Where would the learned of you place Adam ( I got this!) Gotsis

I go all the way back to the days of Billy Shaw and Larry Stallings, so my list would be questionable since it would span several different eras of football. I will say, however, that I cannot recall anyone more physical pound-for-pound than Gotsis at defensive tackle for Tech.

    Introduce yourself

Anybody who sat through the Peach Bowl Purdue game and is still a Tech fan ought to be a great one of the die-hard variety. Welcome aboard!

    North Carolina - 1/2

The guys played real well, but you just can't beat that North Carolina home cooking if you are from out-of-state.

    Power shift in the ACC????

The last team to beat mighty Clemson was the little old North Avenue Trade School, IIRC.

    Miami Postgame

IIRC, Ed Thilenius announced the Ugag games on WSB for years before Munson. Ed Danforth was the sports editor for the AJC and wore his "coat of many colors" (on b&w TV, lol) on the Bobby Dodd show when Tech won an important game.
