felt like a little bit of a grind of a game. low # of possessions first half kept pitt closer than they should have been. whole second half felt like we could pull away if we could just make 2 or 3 shots. we didnt shoot poorly, but until mike and bubba hit those 3s in the final few minutes, we...
i agree with this for the most part. we cant have mike regularly producing so few points, but an occasional off shooting night does not need to mean an automatic L for gt. my argument was that if mike occasionally has an off night, we can still win, but to do so we cannot have other scoring...
35-21 in rebs wasnt the issue. they are bound to have more rebs bc our shooting was so bad. they did not kill us on Orebs (which is far more important stat than total rebs). and we won the TO battle decisively, so that further neutralizes rebs. the game came down to shooting %. ours was awful -...
agree with all of this except to say that moses is unique in that he is such a late bloomer. and what i see is a 4-man who when he is on the perimeter still does not have the full skill set/level he needs. everything about him is a ~1 year behind normal because of his HS hoops...
we dont need devoe to score to win. several examples to disprove that. but, against big/long matchups that are able to limit moses offensively, we do need devoe to score. cant have both moses and devoe shutdown offensively. but every shooter has off nights. devoe has had a few, and too many GT...
think it is the opposite of that. it appears to be the difference between actual win % and what SQ predicts should be your win %. the SQ record column says we should expect to have 11.3 wins and 3.7 loses (so far) based on our SQ offense and SQ defense.
also, if you look at it from ND perspective, WTF was Brey doing not fouling the last 25 seconds?!?!?! shot clock difference was only 3 or 4 seconds. incredible.
100% agree. have not looked at the stats, but it certainly feels like devoe and usher have significantly reduced their TOs the second half of the season. learning, growing, progressing.
agree 100%. after our matchup in december, my first thought was: how/where can i gamble money on fsu going to the final 4. and scottie barnes is going to improve each week on the way to march madness. yikes.
Not only has Usher's game changed since last season, it has changed/evolved within this season. It continues to evolve week to week. Amazing thing about young athletes: they learn, grow, adapt. Many fans get a mindset that just because of a 4* label, kids must show up and produce as frosh and...
