    Spring game

He was his own OC for at least 1 year, and I think it was multiple years. The first year O'brien was the OC (our worst year on defense under CCG/CJT, it was the first year in a new system and I think we were in the 50's in total D). The next year CCG was the OC and we were very good...

    I AM AFRAID!!!!

That's a really good question. I got 4 concussions my junior year of high school. Never got one before nor since (that I remember ;) ) Two were in football, one was in wrestling, and one was in baseball. None were on particularly bad hits - that is to say, I know I've hit and been hit harder...

    Spring game

It has continued with 3 DC's now. I wasn't impressed with the Wommack nor Roof hires, but I though Groh had a chance to be a fantastic hire. None of the 3 have been successful. So, I'm with ya on your last 2 statements. UNC, with Fedora seems to be having the same trouble. Even VT under...

    Spring game

CCG was also an O focused HC and that didn't prevent us from having top 30 defenses EVERY YEAR, and top 15 sometimes. When you say, "I think it's play calling", are you saying you think it's CTR's play calling?

    Grant Aasen "Answering His Calling"

I think most would be surprised how many take the path from GT to ministry. Some on this very message board in fact. Alllll that math and physics just to end up studying souls and another Textbook the rest of your life... :) GT teaches you how to think rigorously and logically which helps...

    ESPN calls GT 'weak'

Ours is way easier. They have to play us, while we only have to play them.

    ESPN calls GT 'weak'

What's more disturbing to me is that the author is using the weak OOC schedule as a positive attribute for Tennessee ... Because of this "weak" OOC schedule, Butch Jone's squad may surprise some people. OK, non-sequitur much? I mean, I get it that having a weaker schedule makes you more likely...

    Locker Room Renovation Underway

While that's true, we don't often lose recruits to those schools. Most of the time we're losing to one in the southeast. Because, location is still the biggest correlation to choosing a school. If we lose a recruit to Stanford or Northwestern, it's a decision that makes at least some sense...

    Locker Room Renovation Underway

Some schools you walk through, some schools you have to climb. GT, you have to climb. And, that means everything when it comes to a real education.

    Does KirVonte Benson

Benson's background reminds me most of Snoddy with the track speed and minimal football experience. Snoddy also started out at BBack. Benson's got better size though which may prove him to be a better fit at BBack than Snoddy. I haven't seen enough of him yet to say much else. Some of what...

    CPJ on Jay Jones

From what I remember, JJ and TM played mostly against the 1's. LJ played mostly against the 2's.

    Spring game talk

My $.02. Not much that hasn't been said. I think we can win with any of our 4 QB's. The offense will look a bit different with each one. It's such a temptation to assume that a younger guy has something that an older guy doesn't. I'm not sure why that is, really. You've got to think Taquan...

Rate the best GT FB player...

We had some darn good TE's during CGOL's and CCG's days ... JP Foshi and Will Heller come to mind. Also, Jimmy Dixon was an unheralded but fearsome FB. Andy Tidwell-Neal, Raymond Roberts-Blake, Kyle Wallace, among many others were underrated OL. Gerris Bowers-Wilkinson is an oft' forgotten...

Yeah, there were some chuckle moments, but some cringe moments too when you think of the fodder it gives to the opposition. I mean, you're setting yourself up ... And, it might get some attacks from other agendas as well besides just football opponents.

    2017 Spring Practice

In fairness, it looks like this is a drill to work on approach, stance, and hand placement in defeating the block. It's not meant to be a live drill to simulate game speed.

    Overrated/Underrated Fan Cliche

This is all I could find: "The Fremeau Efficiency Index (FEI) is a college football rating system based on opponent-adjusted drive efficiency. Approximately 20,000 possessions are contested annually in FBS vs. FBS games. First-half clock-kills and end-of-game garbage drives and scores are...

    Overrated/Underrated Fan Cliche

I'd like to know how they're doing the adjustment and what efficiency measure they use ... (based on points or yards?) ... points could be affected by turnovers and field goal kicker skill, but it also rewards teams that are good, not just at moving between the 20's but still excel when the...
