    2017 Spring Practice

Just doing some musing here: I agree 90% with you. If a guy is a talented passer and can run the normal offense at 70% efficiency vs another guy who is merely serviceable as a passer but can run the offense at 90% efficiency. I want my starter to be the 90% guy. BUUUTTT... just me talking, I...

    2017 Spring Practice

Lots speculation being taken a little too far (the nature of the off-season). Camp and Dolphus do look the part ... but, so did Christian Philpott and Harland Howell ... and so did Bay Bay and Smelter. It's just too little to form a defensible position. If one of them is at the level of the...

Roster number brakedown for a CPJ offense in the NFL

Not sure if serious??? I'm not sure if you didn't read my post or if you're being sarcastic. Just in case you didn't read my post, I'll restate it: Justin missed less time than most NFL QB's: 6 quarters in 3 years (1 full game this year, that CPJ said he could've played in, and 2 quarters...

Roster number brakedown for a CPJ offense in the NFL

You're naively proving my point. So, according to your own logic, doesn't that mean you shouldn't hand the ball off to RB's anymore?

Roster number brakedown for a CPJ offense in the NFL

Justin missed less time than most NFL QB's the last 3 years (maybe 6 quarters total over 3 years). Same for Josh (maybe 6 quarters over 3 years). In fact if we had run the option INSTEAD of passed Josh would've never gotten the season ending injury and we may be sitting on another 9 win season...

Roster number brakedown for a CPJ offense in the NFL

The same way No GM or Owner would dare hand the ball off to a franchise player like Adrian Peterson or Bo Jackson or something. Too dangerous. They'd be sitting ducks. Can you imagine how successful Georgia Tech would be if they had the same caliber athletes as the best in college football...

Roster number brakedown for a CPJ offense in the NFL

Your logic before was this: "No teams do it, therefore it won't work." So, I'm taking your logic and applying it. "No teams in the SEC run the option, therefore, it won't work." Furthermore, "No teams in the Big Integer, Big other Integer, or Pac Integer do it, therefore it won't work. Only...

Roster number brakedown for a CPJ offense in the NFL

How did li'l ol' Justin Thomas stay so healthy these last three years? How did Tevin Washington before him? And, Nesbitt before him? And, how did Tebow keep from getting injured in college or his pro career? Just flukes I guess.

Not in the SEC either then right?

Roster number brakedown for a CPJ offense in the NFL

I guess the same reason that only 1 non-service academy FBS college team runs the option. It just doesn't work. o_O

Roster number brakedown for a CPJ offense in the NFL

I couldn't disagree with you more. People said the same thing about "option football" at every level. Oh, it won't work in that league, that's big boy football. Yeah, you have big boys playing on both sides of the ball. It's not going to make any difference at all. Not one ounce. So, since...

Roster number brakedown for a CPJ offense in the NFL

What would be the difference in that and tagging ur RB every other play? The QB is a RB type of athlete in this offense and would take injuries at the same rate as a RB, which is to say not at a significant rate.

    Mikell Lands-Davis

Don't forget about Omahri Jarrett. Benson could play AB as well, depending on the freshmen RB's (one of them could go to AB too). And, then a QB could also end up there depending on how they shake out.

    Offseason workouts

I think we're confusing our terms here. In my lift terms, what you're describing is a "clean and squat" or "clean and front squat". For me, a clean is just getting it up from the floor to your chest in the stand up position. That may involve more or less of a squat depending on your technique...

    Offseason workouts

In the everyday workout, of course, you want to work on form. Your form doing 10 reps at 70% might be mostly perfect while your 2 reps at 90%, your form might suffer. You're getting stronger either way. This wasn't a workout, it was a max-out day. It's just you trying to do the most you can...

Doesn't that sound a lot like football? Faster and stronger = better at football (all else being equal).

    Offseason workouts

You're hitting near my point. When you lift normally you're doing 90% of it in controlled form, but those last 10 reps are always shaky; if not, then you're probably not pushing yourself enough. In practice, you're focused on the fundamentals and correct form, but when you're scrimmaging and...

    Offseason workouts

I'm trying to be nice, but if you're trying to turn your guys into savages, then you've got to do savage lifting. I don't get some of the ... what's a good word ... worrisome? ... responses about the intensity of the lifting. It's no different than practice ... You want competition, intensity...
