Several people were put in the game who were not ATL. Example: Three other TEs were ATL but Collins gave praise to Coco for blocking late in the game (not an injury/depth issue). Others off the top of my head who played who were not ATL were Douse and Ivey. Seems fluid to me.
ATL is a guide to start the game. As the game progresses the original ATL becomes fluid with the events of the game. Several players who are regulars on STs may not be on the ATL list. As injuries occur it is next man up, ATL or not.
I think that will depend on the heat and the play count in a few extreme cases. Pace of the plays could also be a factor. I prefer a plan to do some rotating to gain some depth/experience.
Thanks. The camera angles excluded the wideouts and CBs for the most part and I only got a glimps of what looked like #8 one time. Glad that he got some PT
This was one of my beefs with Coach P last year. Three times in 2019 we ran that play with AB blocking and he and the play got smashed, in fact AB was temporarily injured twice (and Cottrell and Jarrett, who can block, were on the bench). AB is a great receiver but he is not only small but has...
There are likely a lot of players participating on special teams not listed on the ATL, Players like B Swilling, the Huffs, Brooks, some of those LBs and DEs, Martin, etc.
I hope that fair competition will give the coaches a clear choice for a QB. Sometimes when the competition is very close and the players have a definite favorite it is best t go with the players choice. As a coach I have had to choose a QB about two dozen times and I learned to listen to...
There are many examples where the OC did not use available talent. One was the few wide screens to the sideline. On three occasions the starting slot back was the primary blocker and at 165 pounds he got blown up and injured twice (not his fault) attempting to block and none of the three plays...
He is an experienced and polished professional. I have no doubt that he knows football x's and o's inside and out, can evaluate and motivate players, and can coach lots of appropriate football techniques. What he has to do to prove to me that he is a good OC is better utilization of available...
IMO the most underrated back in this group is D Smith. He and Griffin can "go". Next to Mason I like them both. We know what Mason can do. Malloy is a solid and similar power back like Howard and Mason, yet to have much opportunity to prove how good. My pecking order is Mason, Griffin, Smith...
His DB position is likely to be Nickel where his size is not much of an issue. After all Lawerence Austin played that spot exceptionally well as a much smaller DB. #22 an #25 will make a real impact at the N position. Curry will likely be on the field a lot and this opens up the WLB position for...
Our B-gap problem issue is also magnified by light weight WLB and WDE and not having a dominating NT. Without much bigger players we probably need to keep changing up our alignments to move those light weights around.
