I just got Tech Early Action stats from my son's top metro Atlanta public high school.
ADMITTED STUDENTS
Average GPA: 4.59
Average SAT: 1559
Average ACT: 35
Most accepted applicants to engineering majors did coursework BEYOND AP Calc BC and AP Physics C
This is mind-boggling. These are...
I didn't get to watch the stream but was genuinely shocked we lost. We've been so good, especially during the regular season, that losses are surprising. Hopefully it was just an off-night.
The good news is that we beat Boston College 15 - 4 this afternoon.
Stansbury owes OSU a $2.1 million buyout. He pays approximately $1 million. OSU sues for $1.5 million which is the balance due plus interest at 9%. Tech loans Stansbury the money (advance against salary) so he can pay off OSU fully and therefore effectively admitting they were right. Whiskey...

Short version: Former Tech prof Judith Curry should be "unhirable" due to her record on climate science. Not surprising given the number of shrill...
Tech plays in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) league. It's excellent lacrosse, but not NCAA level like UVA, Duke and Carolina from the ACC.

Another excellent team with high expectations.
National ranking: #4
Record: 2 - 0 with wins over BYU (powerhouse program) and Vandy (not a powerhouse).
Go Jackets!
I found one reference to the Second Sun being in the space that became Jilly's on Roswell Rd near Wieuca. I clearly remember the Jilly's and its mob connections (Google it).
As for Tech football players breaking a cop's arm, I'm highly skeptical.
I've spent way too much time unsuccessfully looking for any evidence this alleged incident occurred. Until someone provides evidence to the contrary, I don't believe it.
I couldn't find any reports online either. This allegedly occurred near Chastain Park, just a few miles from where I grew up and I have absolutely ZERO recollection of anything like that.
I'm a member of a "Buckhead Natives" Facebook group and this was recently posted. I have no recollection of the incident. Anyone know the story?
The Second Sun was a saloon. At its Roswell Rd. location six or so Tech football players were admittedly drunk on PCP. One, Lenny something, after...
Funny you mention that. A Tech grad teacher at a good Atlanta high school told a close friend of mine that far more girls were accepted than boys from his school. Makes sense from a supply and demand point of view.
I’ve been following Tech admissions carefully for the past few years and I believe that I have an idea of why we hear so many stories of highly qualified legacy and/or highly-qualified kids being denied.
The first reason is simply the volume of applicants. Tech is in demand because it’s a...
