Baylor versus Zags looking like a good game
  3. Coaching Carousel 6 - You can't make everyone happy. You are not bacon.

Throw in the implications of NIL and what a coach is going to have to do to support players in that environment
  4. Coaching Carousel 6 - You can't make everyone happy. You are not bacon.

I am not sure the "UNC Family" angle is going to be as strong as some seem to think. First the Dean/Roy coaching tree is not what you would hope for a job like UNC. Some decent candidates but no one blows you away. Second, Bubba Cunningham doesn't have long UNC roots like Baddeur did the last...
  5. ACC Discussion 2020-21

Must mean I am f'ing brilliant
  6. Coaching Carousel 6 - You can't make everyone happy. You are not bacon.

You have to wonder if they learned anything the last time they made an offer to a coach primarily because he was in the family (Daugherty). This time there isn't a Roy hanging out there to come rescue them if it mucks up. They also have an AD who isn't from the family as well so should be...
  7. NCAA v. Alston in the Supreme Court

This looks to me like potentially destroying a system for the perceived fairness to maybe 25 or so players per year. While I wish the NCAA, conferences and schools hadn't tried to monetize college sports for all they are worth, I still think it is a pretty fair deal for 99% of the players. I...
  8. Bracketology - Let's Do This

First decent game of the elite 8

Looks like they are signing up for a $21 M buyout and we went off the rails for $7M :(:mad:
  11. Returning players for 2021-22

They don't have to wait for the season to end. Technically, they do not have an employment contract with an NCAA institution and can leave anytime they want.
  12. Returning players for 2021-22

My understanding is as long as they don't sign with an agent and don't take money they can go through the coach or other "advisor" and find out about/evaluate/negotiate options to play anywhere including overseas.
  13. Coaching Carousel 6 - You can't make everyone happy. You are not bacon.

Just as an aside, please explain how Sheldon Williams fits with the long and lean model :p:unsure:
  14. Bracketology - Let's Do This

They ran that switching philosophy down FSU's throat
  15. NCAA's Treatment of Women

If that is supposed to be their real response to the social media world it should have been available long time ago. I really would fire their PR staff - with Emmert along for the ride.
  16. NCAA's Treatment of Women

The deal isn't "equal". This wouldn't be an issue or even known about if the NCAA had just been smart or reasonable about how they set up the women's bubble. Put in a reasonable weight room not even the equal of the men's but reasonable and this ain't an issue. They didn't pay attention and...
  17. Returning players for 2021-22

Pastner looks like he has been on a bender after getting bounced from the tourney. :beercheers::dead::dead: I know he doesn't drink but .....
  18. Returning players for 2021-22

The portal is simply the new mechanism for transfering. There are no limitations on the number of times you can transfer. There are generally limitations on ability to play after a transfer unless you get a waiver. Right now there is an expectation of a universal waiver for playing time so...
  19. Walker Kessler leaving UNC?

FWIW Duke's Jaemyn Brakefield is in the portal as well. 4 star PF
