  1. Going for 2, down 8, with 22 seconds to go

Who would have thought we looked different with 20 seconds to go 50 yards. Can’t believe we didnt have the whole playbook at our disposal. You’re right though. The reason we lost was because our offense’s feelings were hurt and they didn’t play as good the last 20 seconds of the game. They...
  2. Going for 2, down 8, with 22 seconds to go

Just give up. You lost this one.
  3. Going for 2, down 8, with 22 seconds to go

We had like 20 seconds to go 50 yards. We didn’t have time to tell if we looked different. The play calling was completely different.
  4. Virginia Postgame

The fact that there are people on here insinuating Sims is the issue fit our struggles is laughable. Most of you arguing this are old (by your own admission in post I’ve seen before). We’re you calling for Joe Hamilton to be benched for a lesser QB when he was young too? I honestly think the...
  5. Going for 2, down 8, with 22 seconds to go

Any momentum lost by not scoring is immediately regained and then some once you recover the onside kick. I was confused at the time on why we were going for 2, but the math checks out and less than 5 minutes of game time before that we essentially had no shot to win anyways. Might as well go...
  6. Virginia Postgame

Now this is something I can agree with you on. I’m sick of seeing Swilling get toasted and both safeties constantly be in the wrong spot in coverage. Might as well put the young guys in and let them play.
  7. Virginia Postgame

Defense is terrible. Offense is good enough to beat anyone but the dwags left on our schedule but we can’t stop anyone.
  8. Ok we are 3-3 so what concerns you the most ( any thing but the coaches)

I’m disappointed as well, but I’ll try to give some reasons why. On the OL we have been really beat up the past two games. Hopefully the bye week helps us get healthy there. On the DL, it’s tough to do much when rushing 3. I still think we struggle inside, but both Ivey and Domineck have...
  9. #GTvsDUKE Postgame

Plus we had as many sacks as they did and 8 TFLs. Our issues was not sustaining drives in the 2nd half. They had the bal for 10 more minutes than we did. As @Augusta_Jacket pointed out though, we were 100% in the RZ today so that’s a good improvement.
  10. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

These are Elite posts. Sorry we won fellas.
  11. #GTvsDUKE Postgame

Was watching most of the game at a bar so couldn’t tell how hurt we were. Sounds like the OL and DBs were banged up based on postgame interview. I’ll start with the positives since we won. Sanders made 2 great plays on the last drive. Don’t know why we don’t throw to him more. He’s...
  12. How to get off the see-saw?

Yea, I don’t know the answer. I also don’t know if it’s better to play backup guys or let your 5/6 guys you plan on playing most get live reps as a unit. We are really young past the starters for the most part so I tend to agree getting the you g guys some live reps when the game is in hand...
  13. How to get off the see-saw?

I wish I knew as well. I missed the first half of the game live. Only reason I knew was because of other people posting about it and then seeing the video of the INTs and who was playing guard. Seems strange the injuries would be that concentrated. Hopefully they’re back this week.
  14. How to get off the see-saw?

To respond directly to the OP, I think this team needs to learn how to deal with success. Honestly GT in general does. I’ve heard way too many times here and from GT fans everywhere that they prefer to be the underdog. We need to learn how to win and learn how to deal with the pressure of...
  15. How to get off the see-saw?

From what I heard, we were down 4 interior OL. That’s not quite next man up. That’s multiple iterations of that phrase. Continuity is also important on the OL so you won’t see as much rotation with that position group as others.
  16. The morning after

You know Clawson went 3-9 his first 2 years at Wake, right? Sound familiar? He also is 45-45 since he’s been there. He was 32-31 at Bowling Green before that. He did have a nice sting at Richmond where he went 29-20. He was 18-17 going into his last year there though. Before that he was...
  17. #PittvsGT Postgame

To echo the disagreement with the “cute” assessment, Gibbs also chipped one fo the Pitt DEs in pass pro before releasing into a route. He may have cracked the guys rib, he definitely needed assistance after the play. Roddy made a point to talk about that’s how you do it and Choice would be...
  18. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

See I have a problem and can admit it. I’m a guy that doesn’t like unread messages. I’ve got all my notifications off so I don’t see that I have unread texts because I will go read them. Same thing here. That was where I went wrong though. Good point.
  19. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Right now, yes. Listen, there’s no arguing CPJ was a much better game day coach than Collins. And there are many things on far days that frustrate me, but there have been improvements in this team from last year to this year and week to week (not so much this week though). Our biggest issue...
