  1. #GTvsMIA Postgame. Tech falls short 33-30

Can you explain this? Especially the last part. I know you've asked for more 2-back sets in previous posts so maybe that's where you're heading. I hope you're not suggesting taking carries away from Gibbs. He is the best player on the team and one of the best all around backs in the country...
  2. #GTvsMIA Postgame. Tech falls short 33-30

True. I get we need to rely on our ground game, but I was very frustrated with the play calls on early downs. Felt like we should have throw more early to open the run back up once they committed to shutting it down, yet we continued to try and force it up the middle. I see below you mention...
  3. Jeff Sims

This might be the craziest take I've seen on this situation. I'm all for the 2nd part. Bring in as much talent as possible and let the cream rise to the top, but to insinuate that a guy in his 2nd year playing behind a bead offensive line isn't going to get any better is ridiculous. He's...
  4. Another win this season?

I love how when we get turnovers, they were given to us and we had nothing to with it, but when we turn it over, it’s our fault and their defense had nothing to do with it. Pretty amazing actually.
  5. #GTvsMIA Postgame. Tech falls short 33-30

Yea Sims didn’t look as sharp as previously. I was more frustrated with the play calling. It seemed like every time we did pass it was 3rd and long. When the run was working, that’s fine. They adjusted and we didn’t. Kept running the ball on early downs and had 3rd and 5+ a lot. That...
  6. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

I doubt it. Dabo was trying to prove a point. I think Kirby will have backups in early to stay healthy for the Bama game. Sad to say that’s why it won’t be that bad, but that’s how I feel.
  7. #GTvsMIA Postgame. Tech falls short 33-30

We don’t have a Simms If you were taking about our QB, maybe you should watch just the OL for a couple plays.
  8. #GTvsMIA Postgame. Tech falls short 33-30

He’s been better than Joe Hamilton at this point in his career. Sims does way more than Reggie could ever do. Reggie competed his balls off, but wasn’t half the QB sims is.
  9. #GTvsMIA Postgame. Tech falls short 33-30

He’s a true freshman I believe. I also think Cooper is our backup, but he’s hurt too. We aren’t great on the OL but we’re pretty thin right now inside.
  10. #GTvsMIA Postgame. Tech falls short 33-30

QB doesn’t matter if the OL can’t hold water. That’s the issue on that side of the ball. Sims didn’t play great, but he’ll be fine.
  11. Jeff Sims

You would’ve hated (young) Joe Hamilton then
  12. Strength and Conditioning?

Quez essentially said this without saying they came out flat in his postgame presser. Said they got challenged at halftime and came out and accepted it. It feels like there are some bad apples on that side of the ball that are older that may be throwing off the whole unit. I say cut ties...
  13. Jeff Sims

Sims is statistically better at this point in his career than Joe Hamilton was. I love Yates and what he brings to this team, but Sims gives us the best chance to win now (though maybe debatable) and in the future (really not debatable). Add in the fact that Peery is already here and we just...
  14. #VTvsGT Homecoming Postgame Thread

Not sure. I’m 36 so was just getting into GT football when Friedgen was here. My guess is that’s part of what made him great. I’m sure CDP could install some under center stuff if he wanted to. A big reason he may not is because we have a freshman QB and haven’t had much continuity with the...
  15. #VTvsGT Homecoming Postgame Thread

I’m sure it’s doable, I just don’t know if it’s necessary. I’m not a football expert, but I believe the issue is more on play selection than formation. Why we are using Jeff’s legs either allowing him to make a read or rolling him out with the options to run or throw is what bothers me so...
  16. Miami favored by 9

I brought this up in the chat on Saturday. He has completely disappeared. He was playing against VT though. Not sure if they’re using him differently, hurt, or if he’s just not playing well.
  17. #VTvsGT Homecoming Postgame Thread

I could be wrong, but that’s the way I read it. He may have misspoke when he said mesh meaning the handoff. I took him as talking about a straight inside give. From the gun versus under center. Heck most the time the bback lined up 2-3 yards behind the qb so it would have to have been closer...
  18. #VTvsGT Homecoming Postgame Thread

Same reason CPJ didn’t practice running plays from the gun. I agree it’s simple in theory, but when your whole offense is run from the gun, wasting time on running plays under center that you might run once or twice in a game seems like a waste of practice time. The issue is less where we take...
  19. #VTvsGT Homecoming Postgame Thread

My guess is he’s referring to a traditional single back formation and not what CPJ ran since that offense isn’t likely to be ran here again anytime soon. Obviously the bback dive hit quicker than anything else. That’s just not what we do anymore so don’t think it’s fair to use as a reference...
  20. #VTvsGT Homecoming Postgame Thread

Defense sucks. First time in the last few games I’ve been highly disappointed in play calling. Felt like CDP was calling the game to keep Sims from throwing INTs. We moved the ball best when he opened it up. Wish Gibbs would’ve kept running instead of cutting on his big run. Unless his tank...
