  1. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Well it’s to be expected that things would slow down when you’re adding the final pieces to the class. We have 5 composite 4 stars and at least 8 guys who are 4 stars by either rivals or 247. 2 of those are DTs which I can’t ever remember happening. I know we got D Morgan but he was an edge...
  2. Well Damn Jeff

I’m not super familiar with NFT, but you’d think at a place like GT our guys would get in on it early. There obviously needs to be interest, but I’d think a guy like Sims or Gibbs could get some traction.
  3. 2021 ACC and Competition News

If we had a good OL we could do that. We could do both.
  4. Will we see BlackStrain the few games?

Gibbs is the only home run threat, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have guys that can’t get open. McGowan is a good athlete, who runs good routes, and knows the game. He can find soft spots in zones and has been running free a lot. The WR position isn’t the issue IMO. It’s the OL more than...
  5. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Collins isn’t going anywhere either. Don’t know anything about the other coaches because I honestly don’t really care about college football save GT anymore. I’d put Collins being let go at a <1% chance of happening save him doing something immoral. As much as I like Thacker, I’m hoping...
  6. QB controversy

I’m with you on this. The only time I feel like we have a chance to make a stop on 3rd down is when it’s short yardage and they may run the ball. If it’s 3rd and 6 to 3rd and 20, I feel like it’s almost a guaranteed first down for whoever we are playing.
  7. Jordan Yates

You’re a great fan. Calling our QB “the pick machine” well done… If we want to talk turnovers, Yates did it twice this past weekend. Yates this season: KSU: 245 total offense and no turnovers Clemson: 220 total yards and 1 turnover UNC: 25 total yards and no turnovers BC: 170 total yards...
  8. Jordan Yates

Walton has been fine. Not great, but he’s not the issue. The safety position has been an absolute liability. I personally think Thomas’ playing time may have to do with trying to get his brother to come here. Hope I’m wrong on that one. Both him and Riq have lost a step and outgrown the...
  9. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

First, yes I can. It’s obvious to anyone in the world that Clemson has been a top 3 team the last decade. Including them in the ACC rankings would be like SEC fans claiming their superiority based on Bama being good. If that’s who you are go ahead. Second, Clemson is still 7-3 with losses to 3...
  10. Trad Beatty

If the kids not ready, the last thing you want to do is throw him in against ND and especially the dwags D. I understand it won’t impact his eligibility, but don’t think it would be good for him or the team to be out there unless he’s showing out in practice.
  11. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

ACC teams not named Clemson (or ND) ranked in the top 25 (final AP poll) at the end of the season year by year: 2020: UNC (8-4) and UM (8-3) 2019: None 2018: Syracuse (10-3) 2017: UM (10-3), VT and NC St. (9-4) 2016: FSU (10-3), VT (10-4), UM and UL (9-4) 2015: FSU (10-3) and UNC (11-3)...
  12. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

I keep seeing people say this. Can you please explain how this is true? It seems like because Clemson is down this year everyone just assumes the whole league is. The ACC is pretty much what it always is without Clemson being in the playoff picture. There are currently 6 bowl eligible teams...
  13. 4th & 18 or 19

Well, if we were playing against our defense we would almost assuredly have picked up the 1st down. 3rd or 4th and 15+ is about a 80% chance of success for the offense against our defense. At least that’s what it seems like to me.
  14. OC and DC replacement thoughts!!

Agreed. I was talking about the last 2 years which is what the OP referenced. I actually used to love it when we would salt the last 9 minutes of the game away getting just enough to move the chains. Nesbitt led teams were the best. His QB follow was virtually unstoppable on short yardage...
  15. Another win this season?

This is what not enough coaches (or fans) understand. You can’t coach all kids the same. Same goes for parenting. Some kids will react to some things and others won’t. It takes time and effort to figure out what makes a kid tic. The ones that can do the well are very successful. CPJ would...
  16. OC and DC replacement thoughts!!

I haven’t looked up the numbers, but I feel like we were still pretty explosive in those years as well. I feel like our issue was when we didn’t hit explosive plays we didn’t score. Honestly a little like our offers this year. More efficient but still struggled to match the ball down the field...
  17. Ugag vs. GT score prediction?

What we ran was unique for sure and required discipline so makes sense he would rep it. I’d be interested if CPJ was still here now if Kirby would still do that. Probably at some level. By care, I essentially meant concern about losing. I don’t think Kirby would sweat playing us regardless of...
  18. Ugag vs. GT score prediction?

I didn’t say it was true, I just said I could see that being the only reason Kirby would care. And if PJ was still here and never left, Kirby still wouldn’t care about GT. We might have played lower scoring games, but we would still have no chance to beat the dwags with CPJ here now. 2016...
  19. #GTvsMIA Postgame. Tech falls short 33-30

Agree Cottrell and Snoddy were similar players. Both also had injuries that severely changed the trajectory of their careers. I too was excited about Cottrell coming out of HS. He was made to play aback in CPJ’s offense. Very athletic and great top end speed. I think where he and Snoddy both...
  20. Ugag vs. GT score prediction?

Let's be honest, Kirby doesn't care who the coach is here. He doesn't think about GT until it's game week. His main concern will be getting out of that game with his key players healthy. I'm sure if CPJ was here he wouldn't like it, but not because he thought we'd have a chance to beat him but...
