Camron Hill goes in the 8th round to the Phillies. Another one I expected to go and I hope he taps into his potential. No recruits drafted on day 2 though so I feel like we should expect them to be on campus now.

Part of the problem is that nobody knows when he'll return. Maybe he'll came back after the All-Star break but he'll need some rehab time in the minors.

I saw it and I'm planning on going to see Gwinnett this week. Hopefully he won't get called up before I can go see him, but I imagine that he'll be called up soon.

We just need to get it to 5 by the end of July. If we can do that, there is still a good chance at the division.

He actually pitched a lot for Notre Dame his first 2 years. He had a low 4 ERA his first year and last year he had a high ERA (in the 8s, I think) but he also had one outing where he didn't record an out and gave up 9 runs. Outside of that one outing, he had solid numbers.

Most college teams do this. You don't know which high schoolers will be taken in the draft and you also don't know which of your players will be taken in the draft. So, teams sign a lot of players to make up the difference and then fall ball is basically tryouts.

I do really like Schwellenbach at the 5th spot. There are going to be ups and downs with him but his stuff is legit.

I wouldn't say Schmidt is a castoff. Look at his stats

Looks like 2 good pickups to me. Schmidt hit .321 with 40 walks to 33 Ks last year as a true freshman and had a .984 fielding percentage. It looks like he's going to take over 1B and maybe Neises in LF.
