    Execution

When is the last time we have seen an opposing QB sacked from behind forcing a fumble? Marcordes vs NCST on the road? It has been a while. I want to see us hammer the QB and shake the ball loose. Plays like that flip a game.

    Our Offense

Put me in the column of folks who thinks the GT brass DOES care about grad rates and student athlete academic success. I was there and saw it first hand. I'm getting old, but GT hasn't changed. Would CPJ be in hot water if we stopped winning football games? Absolutely. Would his grad rates be...

    Our Offense

The biggest difference I notice when watching NAVY is how their QB gets going downhill faster. When Jordan comes in for us, things start to look more NAVY-like IMHO. JT takes advantage of his abilities by stringing plays out a little more, trying to get into space himself. That gives the...

    Execution

It is really hard to block a guy in space if you get there too soon, before they have to make a committed move towards the ball carrier. It seems to me that has been happening a fair amount. If they have time to give ground to defeat a block, they will beat it a lot more often. If I may, I will...

    Miami Predictions

This is not a mobile running QB. That gives us an extra defender. Put that in the plus column. We didn't block anybody last week. Put that in the minus. Ummmm? 32-23 good guys.

    Execution

I don't buy the physical superiority causes the mental errors thing. We are not asking our guys to do supernatural things. Nor are we asking them to subdue supernatural beings. We are merely asking them, in many cases, just to slow another human being down by getting in his way. That guy may be...

Replay Study: GT Offense vs Clemson

Well, all I can say is, I know who the unblocked players are supposed to be on any option play we run. The run by mistakes I am talking about are NOT the unblocked players by design. If you run past the MLB (who makes the tackle in the pitch zone) while going for the safety, I have a problem...

    Our Offense

Agreed. Our roster isn't built for that right now.

Wow...ACC moving Football Championship Game out of Charlotte

Orlando is fine. Weather should be better.

    Our Offense

I will say NAVY has a slight advantage in this way: they don't really have recruiting/scholly limits because every kid on campus has a full ride. They can try a bunch of kids and use the ones that stick. It isn't much, but it is something.

    Our Offense

Food for thought. Based on these numbers alone, whose offensive system would you rather run?

Replay Study: GT Offense vs Clemson

Smelter wasn't all that fast, but he could cut, drive you deep and come back for the ball, and beat you for a contested ball. All of these things made him really effective going deep with the double move. CBs would get tired of giving up 14 yard comebacks or back shoulder throws and then, out of...

    The Empty Cupboard at UGA

I agree with this completely. However, if you listen to Bullpup nation over the last several years (and many on this board) Richt was fired because he never won championships with ALL THAT TALENT. Now he is barely to the curb after heading out the door and they have no players. btw '87, my...

    The Empty Cupboard at UGA

I just had to listen to 680 the fan this morning just to enjoy everybody's head exploding and the whacked out rationalization that was sure to follow Saturday's drubbing. I almost couldn't believe my ears. Richt has left Smart an empty cupboard!!!!! You didn't know that?!!!!! I guess my question...

    GT (+6) vs. Miami

Once again, I feel this game is more about us than our opponent. I want to see us start executing our offense, FIRST, before discussing whether we can or can't beat them, or what their talent level is. We would have had a real tough time with Climpsum anyway, but we just didn't execute. I would...
