    Spring Practice

Exactly. We passed up the tying FG earlier. It was obvious, at least to me, to tie the game at that point. It was certain we were going to get the ball back as UNC had not done squat on offense all day. Tie it up, then get in position for Sisson to win it. We were close to losing because we...

    Spring Practice

And we could have kicked the FG and won. I was there too. It was obvious UNC wasn't going to score. I think their only TD came because we fumbled a punt inside our own ten yd line. Didn't they have less than a hundred yds offense?

Do y’all think Tech can ever put it together ?

I think any fair reading of our history in football says "Yes, we will put it all together and make a run." A fair reading would also say, "It will be a hell of a lot of fun and will go farther than anyone including us could suspect. But it won't last long." We seem to do a pretty good job of...

Paul Johnson on proposed transfer changes: 'I think it's nuts'

Does it mean that uga coaches would make their 5* players take some real classes to keep their GPA down? More than likely it means the profs would hand out B's rather than A's in their Housing classes.

Impact of CNW on the offense

It is weird that Clemson has not scored a second half TD on us the last two years especially last year when we lost big leads in the second half routinely. That ridiculous play in 2016 when we had an interception late in the first half turn into a safety still pisses me off.

Impact of CNW on the offense

Last year, Miami had it's best team in almost twenty years. Clemson was playing at their highest level in 30+ years, as was uga. We had Clemson on the road and uga in Atlanta, and we don't play well against that combination historically for some reason. We let three winnable games slip thru...

The Gap... Johnson on 2017 and the Clemson/UGA gap

Have a long running argument with a Clemson friend. He absolutely hates the TO, and keeps saying we need to fire CPJ. He hasn't come to the Clemson game in Atlanta in ages because he gets so mad when CPJ beats them. The 2012 game when they were 8-0, #5, and Washington rushed for almost 200...

    Spring Practice

I'm think Marco Coleman and Marlon Williams were the DE's. Thought Rudolph lined up a lot next to Battle.

    Spring Practice

Didn't Coleman Rudolph play DT at about 245-255 and was an AA?

The Gap... Johnson on 2017 and the Clemson/UGA gap

Just looking at that chart, then Clemson shouldn't be able to compete with South Carolina or Florida State.

    Interesting stat

Seems like I remember CPJ saying that in the 2015 Miami game he looked on the field at our offense to call a play and there were 9 Fr or R-Fr on the field.

    Missed assignments

Theoretically I guess, anytime the other team makes a tackle someone missed their assignment.

Who are Woody's Top candidates for D line coach?

Wasn't there a team just up the road that fired the head coach and promoted the unknown wide receiver coach to head coach a few years back? Seems like that worked out OK. Everybody made fun of him for a while, too.

Schedule release tomorrow (Wed) at 2p

Best thing about the schedule is that we get an easier opponent the week after we beat Clemson so we can escape the let down with a win.

    Overall thoughts??

Honest question. Will the new style defense affect the performance of QB's in spring practice. Would the strengths of a particular qb over another be demonstrated more against Woody's defense more than it did against Ted's?

Selling academics at Tech AND CPJ's offense

I have always been amazed at Tech's inability to build recruiting off stellar seasons with 1990 being the best example. I have been equally amazed with the ability to build stellar recruiting off terrible seasons, 1990 being the best example also. We sucked in the mid 90's and then put...

    Overall thoughts??

Last fall, LJ and JJ had one fall and one spring running the TO. I doubt Johnson wanted to throw them in at that stage. Can't fault him. With wins over Tenn and Miami (almost dammit), we would have been looking at a much different year. Next season, LJ will have three fall camps and two...

    Overall thoughts??

Gotta see the schedule first. Who we play and when means a lot about building momentum and chemistry. Gotta see who leaves after Spring practice. But having little to no info never stopped me from making predictions before so... I think a new DC will bring more enthusiasm than confusion, and...

Look back at our 2017 schedule

We played uga's best team since 1980. We played Miami's best team since they joined the ACC. We played a Clemson team that made the playoffs three years in a row. We were scheduled to play the only undefeated team in the FBS. We had four monsoon games all on the road. The original schedule...
