    A Back Involvement

As for calling plays out of his head, CPJ wears a headset during the game. I suspect, but don't know, there is an asst coach up in the box with lots of notes and diagrams that CPJ talks to when the D is on the field and between plays when the offense is on the field. Anybody know for sure?

    Fall Camp Thread

I seem to recall watching him play in both spring games. He didn't look injured on that long TD run he had spring of last year.

    Demetris Robertson

As I think back over the last thirty or so games against uga, I can only remember a couple of times when we were really on a roll late and lost to the curs: 2009, maybe 2006, and the SEC ref stolen game in '91. Usually by the end of the year, we are worn out and drop a couple of games (or two...

Interview Player Poll: Yellow Jackets Discuss Expectations, Team Leaders, and Superstitions

He looked different in the Spring Game. By that, I mean he looked better, seemed to be moving better or something. Might have just been the competition.

    Defensive biGTime "A New Hope"

Woody has figured out the high school offenses that Clemson and uga run.

David Hale's ACC Position Group Rankings

It's not unusual for players to go from relative unknown to very good from one year to the next, sometimes even with a position change. I would bet we could come up with at least a couple every year for the last 30 years or so that did. Coleman Rudolph went from little used OLB to all...

    Preseason Depth Chart

Not saying Woody's in the same league, but Edsall turned the defense around in one year (and then left). The Fridge turned the O around in one year. Patrick Nix turned Miami's offense around in one year;).

David Hale's ACC Position Group Rankings

We play numbers 1,2,6,8,9,10,11, and 13 on that list. We are #12. Clemson will be tough no doubt. Let's hope Miami is overrated in this list. Other than those two, it would seem we are somewhat competitive with the rest of our games., ie 6,8,9,10,11,13. With three #14 ratings, being an...

Two early season indicators of success ?

I'm trying to think of a defense where a dominant NG isn't the key.

Two early season indicators of success ?

Pitt looked damned good against Miami at the end of last season.

Two early season indicators of success ?

If we just pop Clemson in the mouth. Don't necessarily have to win, but give an indication of intensity and confidence. I can live with being 2-2 if Clemson is a 4th qtr game showing growth and development, especially on the D.

    A GT Football Fan expectation

Agreed, but I suspect it is more likely our next hire will be like Gailey than Dabo, given our history. And I had lots rather have CPJ than another Gailey. Now you tell me how you can insure we don't hire someone like Gailey or Lewis. Or like Muschamp, or Sumlin or Strong or Freeze or McElwain...

    A GT Football Fan expectation

Because it's an apt comparison. Gailey was the coach with the most recent history against the ACC. He took us to the ACC Championship game. He recruited from the same pool CPJ is using, but with lesser academic restrictions. Gailey had a long track record of good results in both college and...

    A GT Football Fan expectation

They need to begin sending out the media guides again so that people can look at past scores quickly before they post drivel. Gailey's low scores 2002 - 7 against uga 2003 - 3 against Clemson 2003 - 7 against Maryland 2004 - 3 against Miami 2005 - 7 against VT 2005 - 7 against uga 2006 - 7...

    ACC 2018 Power Rankings--USA Today

Georgia Tech was put on earth to make fools of high school math hotshots and sports writers. GT will achieve its purpose again this year.

Is this the correct shade of gold?

Would have to see it in my garage to be sure.

    Expectations and thoughts?

My expectations seldom change regardless of the coach or players. We will brain fart away one game (or at least come close to losing it). We will lose one game we should in no way lose. We will destroy somebody we are on par with talent wise. We will beat (or almost) somebody we should have...

Which team would you like to beat the most this season?

Clemson - the second time we play them next year. Winning the first time we play them would be fun, but winning the second time would hurt them the worst.

    So who starts in DB?

IIRC, one of the Clemson analyst a couple of years back said GT had the best DB recruiting class in the nation. Hope he was right.

    Bold, but reasonable predictions

With a leaky defense, a new qb, our best bb disqualified before the first game, Lynch hobbled early, etc, we were two plays from being 6-0 heading into Clemson (and I still think we probably take UCF early - so did they). I think a team that starts 6-0 doesn't lose both UVA and Duke leaving us...
