CPJ is 1-4 against unranked UGA teams. He’s the only coach since Dodd to have the luxury of playing that many crap UGA teams and he crapped the bed against them. O’Leary would’ve whipped all of those teams.

Shhhhhhh..... People here seem to think ornory and cantankerous is good for the program. Our fanbase is made up of ornery and cantankerous engineers who loathe marketing, sales, and soft skills. They’ve found their hero.

Do you think 5% of our players get into Tech as regular students? Maybe 1% could. 5% couldn’t get into UGA either. The last average two-part SAT for our team I’ve seen is 1062. That’s not even getting you into Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, etc as a regular student.

Alabama had more 1st rounders in the past four years than Georgia has had in the past 15. It can get significantly worse.

Since 2007 they’ve had more years with zero five stars than with four. They get a little over two per year on average.

UGA is on track to having an all-time class and their next one looks to be loaded too. CPJ had multiple chances at really subpar UGA teams and blew most of them. He’s about to face ones that are like what Chan saw (or maybe better). This is bad.

But Zook had also proven himself a bad coach. He clearly improved the recruiting. The fact that the guy who had the first website dedicated to his firing was able to pull in five stars to a historically abysmal program proves recruiters can recruit.

Ron Zook was a terrible coach/good recruiter. He pulled in top 30 classes at Illinois.

That wasn’t peak Spurrier, though.

They’ve never had six five stars in a signing class before.

Adding insult to injury, Georgia is pulling in a Bama quality recruiting class.
