TaQuon highlights and 2018 Hype Video

Reminder: That was the worst UT team of ALL-TIME. I think TaQuon can be a good QB for us, but that first game tricked us. Our real takeaway from that game should have been that our defense was garbage.

    CAM top 25 recruiter nationally

That’s a meaningless metric. Clearly our starters last year were not good enough.

    Recruiting rankings apples and oranges

The problem with this theory is your original assumption is incorrect. We are not recruiting different guys on offense. We offered at least 18 four and five stars on the offensive side of the ball. Just because we missed on all but one doesn’t mean we aren’t going after them or don’t want them.

ESPN article,"20 QB Battles this Spring"

As a quarterback. He’s thrown for almost 5000 yards on 60+% passing with 40tds to 10 ints. He’d start at QB for probably 98% of FBS.

Jalen Hurts would do well in just about every offense.

    Damarius Bilbo

I suppose if you count practice squads. Kelly Campbell had 1000 yards receiving in the NFL and White had over 2000. Freddie Smith had more receiving yards. The NFL didn’t have much use from sub 6 footers back in those days. I bet all those guys could’ve had more success in the modern NFL that...

    Damarius Bilbo

O’Leary signed Jonathan Smith. He was a freshman in 2000. That’s why I left him off. O’Leary was a monster at WR recruiting. Middleton, Campbell, Watkins, White, Smith, Curry, Glover. I’d take that 99 WR corps as the best in Tech history.

    Damarius Bilbo

Seriously. Bilbo as a wideout is probably the fifth best receiver we’ve had post O’Leary days behind Calvin, Demaryious, Hill, and Smelter. In fairness, that is kind of a depressing fact.

Gt Basktball marketing better than football marketing?

I’m more of a football guy, but in all honesty we have way more upside as a basketball school. In the marketing/brand realm we have been “cool” in basketball at least three separate times in my lifetime. Early 90s, Marbury, and then early Hewitt. Not surprisingly those eras correspond to five...

    Overall thoughts??

The difference in talent between a Georgia Southern and a Wofford or ETSU in those days would make Alabama vs UAB look balanced. You will never see that kind of talent disparity in the FBS, especially not within your own conference.

    Overall thoughts??

I don’t know if this is true or not, but given the physical superiority Georgia Southern had in those days I’d hope it was.

    Overall thoughts??

Is there an example of this iteration of CPJ’s offense with decent pass blocking? Even the years that we’ve been proficient throwing the ball the QB seems to be facing a jailbreak every attempt.

    WOLF AT THE DOOR

As far as I’m concerned there is nothing to watch and no scores to check. I think I’ll give this Peaky Blinders show a try tonight.

It's Officially Official! (Nate Woody Named DC)

I like this guys style. I’ll remain cautiously optimistic until I see some recruiting. We need a major talent upgrade across the board to have a competent defense.
