Orwin Smith is in my mind the best with the rocket toss that we have seen at Tech. He didn't seem to have overwhelming speed, but as with this one, if the playside Aback gets and holds his block, there was always a chance. We haven't run it worth a flip since, even with what we assumed to be bumper crops of Abacks. Anybody have a reason for that? (And for what it is worth -- nothing since it is all decided though I have my hopes up for the Dodd award -- this one validates Monken as coach of the year. 10 wins? At Army? Grade that one on a curve and see what you get.) But let me be the first: Army needs to pass more.

Lame.

Did you see all that shotgun that Army ran? They were zone-reading and throwing it all over the yard on Marshall Faulk U.

I was impressed that SDSU was going for a 3rd straight 11-win season, the first time that would've happened since the 60's. Good win by Army!
Army was throwing it around yesterday? That’s news. They passed for . . . six yards yesterday. Hell, they completed 20 passes all season.

Not much passing, but more than usual. About our amount of passing. It looked foreign to them, but they completed passes

The MLB froze in his tracks like he thought the motion was just a decoy. All year long, the MLB followed our motion back. Hell, most times he beat our guy to the edge.

That was just a very bad read/decision on D in Army’s favor. Still, if TM pitches against UT we win. Not the same play at all, though.

Army's passing stats were: 1/4, 6 yards, 1 INT. Not exactly throwing it all over the yard:LOL:

My friend from HS went to West Point and served in the army for 8 years after graduating. I congratulated him on the back to back wins against Navy, and their season. He said, "Glad for the wins, but man, that style of offense is boring to watch for me. Better than losing, I guess..."
