VMI probably wishes they were just "mediocre". This team is a mere shadow of the one that won the Southern Conference in 2020. Losing to William & Mary is one thing but losing to Bucknell is a sure sign of a bad team in FCS circles.

I am not surprised. He was about the whole show against William and Mary. They were hitting him pretty hard. This is just not a good team even by FCS standards.

With more time to waste than is healthy, I watched parts of VMI's first two games Bucknell and William and Mary. They run what appears to be a typical shotgun "Me too" offense. Pretty decent quarterback, capable though physically limited running backs. The lines are small and slow...

Well, maybe not but I miss him. Last year it seemed as though he made plays of one kind or another in every game (an exaggeration to be sure) but still he played hard and we would be better with him.
