Not that any serious replies are needed in this thread, but all you have to do is live out in the sticks outside of metro Atlanta pretty much anywhere in Georgia, as a GT fan, and the way you are treated by the redneck Dawg fans will make you hate them for life. Never had a problem with a UGa alum, but the rednecks who never have been to Athens yet root for their Dawgs are sickening.

Oh, yeah, and because they epitomize cheating to win.

1. They are the epitome of white trash.
2. They ruined any decency that country music had left.
3. They know nothing about college football.
4. They assume they are a top five school every year, and yet they always crap the bed with all of those 5* players.
5. They're in the SEC, allow thugs into their program, and have helped the SEC compromise the true student athlete in order to make money and win at all cost (even though they still haven't won a championship).

Yeah, but not the same kind of average, hence my use of "confusion." The joke doesn't play on different uses of the same word which is a classic source of humor but relies on the equivocation. In other words, for the joke to work, you must be too stupid to understand the difference between mean and median.

Probably on the opposite side of you and sober Raj on the talking to ladies scale. (I admit asking for help on a reference which a nerd will understand). I'm told that I should then say, "ooh burn" for an older generation.

Back in my day the nadlickers used to taunt all with "you can't spell Sugar Bowl without UGA!"
*chuckle* we also knew UGA stood for "Unother Gator Asskicking!" We were young then and they were dopes.

Fwiw, my hate for UGA began with my rat cap and our fight song.

My hate for Georgia stems from being raised by an Auburn man and attending the Institute myself. That and, of course, just spending a little time around them. I don't see how anyone that's met one could have anything good to say about the dwags afterward.

Had a pretty good time with them during and after 30-24, though! (y)

One day I was at a Tech game at Bobby Dodd Stadium, using one of our Public Urinals, and when I finished, the line to wash my hands was so long, I decided to just use my liquid hand sanitizer instead. I was wearing my white GA Tech logo shirt and some UGA fan saw me and said "you know at Georgia, they teach us to wash our hands when we finish going to the bathroom".

I looked him in the eye and told him "at GA Tech, they teach us not to go to the bathroom on our hands".

Two stories:

I am at a cool microbrewery walking to an outdoor area to see a band with two friends who are UGA grads/fans.

As we are walking a Tennessee fan is walking with us. SEC football talk ensues. The TN fan says "You know, I really wouldn't mind Georgia but your fans are just the worst behaved fans in the SEC and probably the country. They are rude, obnoxious, uneducated, and have no sportsmanship. I just can't like Georgia."

The bluntness of this comment in a friendly conversation took me by surprise and I watched my friends faces closely to see their response. They are good, very smart, accomplished folks who are among my all time favorite friends. They both nodded their heads begrudgingly as if they'd heard this comment many times before; my friends' wife says "I can't dispute that. Our fans are terrible."

I haven't lived in Georgia in 30 years so it reminded me of just how bad their fans are. It also reminded me of why I'm friends with this couple. They pretty much tell it like it is.

Now let's go back 42 years:

I'm 5-years old...old enough to go to games with my Dad who's a stands physician. It was all new to me. One of the things I loved about the games was seeing the opponent, learning about their mascot, hearing their fight song, seeing their fans, hearing about them from my father.

Last game of the year is Georgia. My Dad hasn't said anything about the game to prep me....just that this is Georgia and it's a big game. We get to Tech and I see all these hideously dressed people in garish red and black yelling obnoxious things, throwing trash on the ground, etc., and instantly I don't like them. I learn their mascot is the bulldog, the same as several other teams. Their fight song is a rip off of another song. Their helmet is a rip off of the Green Bay Packers. The fans are even worse when in the stands.

It was just natural to hate Georgia after that. I've experienced nothing since to change my viewpoint, except that not living in Georgia I do forget how bad their fans are from time to time.

I tried to like them, but when they get to the part in their fight song that says " to hell with GT" that's it! I can't go there. TO HELL WITH GEORGIA! I won't even wear a red shirt (unless it's Falcon Red) but must say Falcons on it somewhere. I pull for all teams playing against the SEC and all SEC teams playing against UGA. THWG and the SEC............................... ACC ACC ACC.

The huge contingent of obnoxious fans. That's the beginning and end honestly and why they are universally despised by fans from Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, and us.....just for starters. I've never met a fan of any school that thought well of them. That says a hell of a lot. They also happen to be poor winners and sore losers which doesn't help them any.

I would feel bad for my uga friends that are good people that get lumped in with them.....but if you lay down with dawgs you will get fleas.

I'm with you Redmule. It seems like every year something really stupid happens with the officials or a player gets hurt that would have made a huge difference.
