I know we are talking about offense, but I really like Shaun Kagawa on defense..just seems to be an all around good football player.

For offense:

AB: Cottrell,FASTER! Jarrett ( faaaaaast)

BB: Marshall, Lands Davis, Skov (dude looks like Roman Reigns, beast)

WR: Summers (he has great speed)
Messick (dude is a beast)

ST: Jamal - going out in style with 5 kick return TD.

I think we all need to chill on Skov a little.
None of us have seen him carry a bag of groceries let alone a dad gum ball yet.

We've seen as much as we have the incoming freshmen, his HS film, and we know that he was primarily used as a ball carrying FB at Stanford.

I'm trying to temper my own expectations as much as everybody else's. The fact is he's a big fat question mark right now. The hype is starting to reach Vad Lee level.

I think a lot of our guys come to Tech wid a chip on their shoulders. Got something to prove by being overlooked. That is what is exciting to me. Defense rules, offense makes ya drool.

Snoddy should pick up where he left off.

I think that's a pretty strong statement considering the nature of his injury. I have no doubt Snoddy's speed will get back to at least near where he was. I'm more concerned about the mental aspect - kind of like when some pitchers get hit in the head by a line drive and then flinch for a little while when they get back. We have no way of knowing if Snoddy can "pick up where he left off" until we see him in live action.

His injury was so fluky and random it'd be hard for him to be nervous about any specific act on the football field. It's not like he tore a knee making a cut...he'll probably never have anything reminiscent of his injury.

Getting tackled? I just don't think it's fair to him to assume he can be back to 100% (mentally and physically) before we even see him play in any games, just my opinion.

Physically he'll be fine, the bone will actually knit stronger than pre injury. Mentally? I don't know but he doesn't strike me as a young man that's going to back down from what's been his work ethic during his healing process and rehab.

That's not what I meant at all. I never implied he was going to back down during his healing process and rehab and I'm not sure how you read into it that way.

There are a lot of players to be excited about, even if we have little real data or even hints at how they will play.

  • Skov has a mature body that looks ready for BB duty... that is all we really know
  • Allen showed he do the BB job
  • June had some positive comments leak from spring practice
  • JHD looked to be head hunting and more than just quick off the ball in his spring videos
  • I am pulling for Snoddy to come back as strong as ever
  • Ike can block (spring game and 2014 NC State game)
  • Lynch can block(spring game)
  • Searcy is an athlete that will do more than just contribute

There are some outstanding true freshman, but it is really hard to contribute as a freshman due to both knowledge and physical maturity.
  • Nate looks both fast and mean
  • M Marshall runs very "tough" in his highlights
  • MLD has a chance to get into the rotation at BB
  • Philpott has some great hands
  • Stewart has a mature body and has shown some ability to get to the ball
  • Mitchell would be the heaviest LB on our roster?
  • Victor has a chain of heads for a necklace
  • Will Bryan has mad skills and a killer drive
  • AJ Gray has everything doing for him in ability and size
  • Is anyone as interested in seeing Campbell's QB ability as me?
  • Many other great freshman to look forward to possibly playing

I am waiting to see how the next LB to PJ performs given more of a full time job
I want to see how the next safety steps ups given IJ's departure to the NFL
Strong DE will be another interesting key position to watch
great read and I agree entirely!

He didn't get injured being tackled. No one touched him when he got hurt. He kicked himself. Once he's comfortable running again, there's nothing from his injury to make him tentative.

I just have to with Cottrell; if he can figure out the blocking his speed is going to get him on the field. Shoddy and Cottrell.....that would be a huge combination

I hope that by October, we're talking about Jeune, Messick and Searcy. That's because I think that if they're the ones we're talking about, some really special things will be happening.

He kicked himself while getting tackled. You're wrong, go look at the play. I'm not saying the tackle CAUSED the injury, but it's just flat out inaccurate to say no one touched him when he got hurt. It was a freak injury, yes. To say it was a non-contact injury or that no one touched him when he got hurt, no. The defender had his arms around Snoddy before he kicked himself. I don't think he breaks his leg if he's not getting tackled.

From my viewing, it looked like Snoddy's weight and some of the defenders weight were all on his planted leg. This stress in combination with the kick cause the break.
