Bourbon Junkies released it through their Patreon last week. Sold out on there, so only way to get it now is to live in Michigan and swing by Evernorth or one of the couple of liquor stores up there that sells it.Never seen that one… looks like a great Christmas present to me!
Good night! I like pretty hot stuff too but 138?Anybody had any of the Coy Hill stuff from JD? It's the special release again this year (I think it was 2021 or 22 when they last did it), but they look to be lower proof than the last ones.
The JD Barrel Proof Ryes are probably my favorite whiskey that you can actually get. The BP bourbons are good too, but less unique than the rye imo. I've never even set eyes on any of the Special Release stuff (Coy Hill this year, Twice Barreled Rye in 2022, Coy Hill in 2021, OG Barrel Proof Rye in 2020, and Heritage Barrel in 2018).
I got a store pick JDBPR recently that the store owner claims is from the Coy Hill Barrelhouse, but who knows if there's any truth to that. It is really good, but again I think all of the JDBPRs are really good. I'm got 7-8 of them with 5-6 open. The lowest is 128 and the highest 138. Like I said in my earlier post, I've found that I like the 132-133 range the most.
Crazy enough I have bottles that are 105-110 that drink hotter than some of the 130s I have.Good night! I like pretty hot stuff too but 138?

Not familiar with the Coy Hill stuff… Sounds like some excellent tasting suggestions though!
Alive and well, and quite yummy. Just finished a bottle of 101. Russell's Reserve is outstanding, as is Kentucky Spirit and Rare Breed. Many excellent choices. The Master's Keep I have is not that great.Whatever happened to Wild Turkey?

One of each?
You singing, “This’ll be the day that I die…?”

Just got back from there myself. Ate a nice dinner in a Portuguese restaurant. Stayed with friends on Signal Mountain.Went to a steakhouse in Chattanooga a few months ago and the bartender gave us samples of several different varieties from a local distillery:
Whiskey – Chattanooga Whiskey

Chattanooga is one of my favorite places for a quick getaway. I pass that distillery all the time, but never thought anything of it until I sampled their products. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed them. My next trip back I'll have to stock up on some bottles.
If anyone is close by, I highly recommend spending time in Chattanooga and trying out Chattanooga Whiskey. Incredible little city with a great outdoor scene, great food and bars, and now that I know about it, a great distillery.
Gotta like malty stuff to be into them. It's all high malt mashbill. I'm hit or miss on it. I have a few bottles and break them out occasionally, but not something I'll drink very often. Something about high malt stuff messes with my stomach.Went to a steakhouse in Chattanooga a few months ago and the bartender gave us samples of several different varieties from a local distillery:

I like ASW, but yeah I don't buy it much anymore. The GA Heartwood single barrels are pretty good usually and some of their special releases have been great.Blade and Bow for this fellow. Simple and effective. I refuse to but the local brand, Fiddler. Run by dwags and a percent of the profits support their NIL collective.
