Per ESPN https://www.espn.com/college-football/matchup?gameId=401282671

On offense, our lack of third/fourth down conversions really hurt. The INT was on a 4th or death play, and wasn’t any worse than an incomplete (better, actually, but it doesn’t matter).

On defense, we made the worst (or nearly the worst) QB in the ACC look good.

I'll just put it this way, hardly any improvement on D isn't going to win games. The offense has shown improvement even if Simms has his issues, Collins hasn't shown he knows how to fix this.

How many more homecomings are we going to embarrass ourselves like this

Bowl hopes are now almost certainly gone. Very disappointing loss

Defense in the first half was atrocious. Showed signs of life in the 2nd but wound up falling apart again multiple times. Our HC is supposed to be a defensive specialist right?!

Refs certainly doesn't help us but enough was going wrong that you can't blame them for the outcome

I’m not sure our AD would wait two more years (until 2023, CGC’s fifth year of his seven-year contract) to make a change.

Up to the AD, I guess.

Contract basically guarantees the CGC is here into his 5th year. Until then his contract is 100% guaranteed. We don't have anywhere near enough money to pay the whole contract.

Defense had far too many instances of guys trying to cheat to make a play and having their responsibility burn us. Otherwise, although that was a big part, we played okay and held them enough to keep the game within reach.

Offensively it looked like for most of the game patenaude read the forum and decided the only goal was to not throw INTs and didn't bother to try and win. It was obvious from the get go that VT was daring us to try and beat them deep and we largely refused to try. Especially on the potential go ahead drive to just call run run run run run run and not give one chance for Sims to make a play with his arm is baffling especially coming immediately off the back of the previous TD drive. We aren't beating anyone playing with the plan we had today. It was obvious from the first drive VT was daring us to try and beat them deep and we needed to win or lose on the back of Sims trying to exploit that instead of what we did. By far the worst play calling/offensive gameplan from Patenaude this year.

Reffing was terrible. We deserved to lose but holy hell the reffing was bad.

Defense sucks.

First time in the last few games I’ve been highly disappointed in play calling. Felt like CDP was calling the game to keep Sims from throwing INTs. We moved the ball best when he opened it up.

Wish Gibbs would’ve kept running instead of cutting on his big run. Unless his tank was empty he should beat that guy to the end zone.

Play calling after the big run was terrible.

In all, we suck. Might have a chance to beat BC, but that’s it. Miami, ND and the dwags will smoke us.
