If marshall had juked right instead of left he might have broken it here, as i recall the safety was flying up to take the pitch but it was a good gain none the less.

VPISU defenders were sprinting out of the middle all game. This counter set up too quick so they didn't have time to take themselves out of the play.

NB: Woody Baron ended up on his keester, despite Shamire getting a bad angle on the block because of a stunt. One of many instances where he was neutralized by Devine in that game.

Thanks Longest Day for doing this and identifying the play at the top. Really cool play. Seems like Cooper has to hold that block on the tackle for a long time. I am surprised again, like I was watching it live, at how smooth MJ was for much of this game considering he had not played a whole lot of ball. Marcus Marshall carried the load for us that day. I will really miss him.

Parker Braun looks like he was shot out of a cannon. Good thing Shamire forced 97 to twist his body or else Parker would have lit 97 into tomorrow.

24 had no clue...followed the motion.

WB got blocked by Coop not Sham and nicely done!

Great play design. VT's LDE and LOLB got completely duped by counter motion. Their MLB, S and ROLB all took false steps to the right biting on Qua's initial motion. Parker's pull to the right almost got the MLB chasing another ghost. That guy made two corrections before making the tackle.

I wonder if it would've been better to have Parker lead Marcus up the gut and take out the MLB? Here's one more in a string of inside runs where we left the MLB unblocked. I wonder if his depth had something to do with that decision?

Embarrassment of riches at QB? Seems like it. They all lack experience but man they have some high ceilings imo. I think TM might possibly move again. AB is full also though....WR maybe?

Regardless of how it plays out we are in a much better position than previous years. I remember the concerns that JeT was too small to last a season and worries about who would back him up when he got hurt. This may sound cold to say but should our starter get banged up this year it will be exciting to see what the next man up will do. Actually I am hoping we get large leads in a many games so that we can see more of the backups.

I agree and is why IMHO they need playing time at another position. It will help them be better QBs when time comes. I know that lots of mesh reads, reps are necessary to become effective TO QB. But depending on development of younger QBs I could see MJ being moved to BB or some other position. If our DL and LB development gets to this point of where to best play our depth and we have a real passing game then we will be a perennial top 25 if not top 10.

AB for Marshall might make sense if he were to RS this year. That would put him in position to be the #3 AB his RSJR year (behind Lynch and Searcy) and maybe #1 AB his RSSR year. Without a RS he would be no better than #4 AB this year and #3 next year. And all these projections assumes he can beat out Cottrell and Gant, a big IF. He may have a better chance beating out JJ and LJ a QB.
