GT should never lose to a team like Vandy.
The better team won that game, that is fo sho.

Their QB was a better version of Haynes King than Hayes King. He was tough and sharp.

Haynes King was just tough. But honestly, he can't be beat up every single game. He was limping in the first quarter. Good decisions were not there in this game.

Defensive secondary apparently forgot the rules over the holiday because they were bumping, holding, grabbing on every play they were close enough to be in coverage. God forbid they turn around to locate the ball against a weak-armed QB.

Vandy's front seven was solid, physical and sound.

I was afraid this game would go something like this. They are good this year except no one will give them credit because they are Vandy.

Agree with everything you said, except that they are good. I mean they are 6-6 (now 7-6). I don’t think that should ever qualify as good.

You are so clueless on Vsndy this year, just stop. 50 transfers including the OC and QB plus several others from a 10-2 New Mexico State team.

Look at their schedule. No one had a harder conference schedule.

We played poorly but this Vandy team dose not resemble anything they have fielded for over 50 years. They are a good team. Every bit as GT who is also a good team.

Coach Saban always talks about how you cannot allow external factors to affect your play. Yea the refs suck but Brent and the team cannot react the way we did. Crashing out is the best way to lose. Focus on what you can control
When the refs take the ball from the 50 to the 2 because they thought they saw a push instead of making a correct call, it's difficult to overcome that.

For only the first time in his life, Root is correct. LOL. Just kidding Root. Vandy is a good football team. Teams that beat them stopped their QB, which we could not do.

Why is it that so many GT fans feel compelled to make excuses for refs, losing to weak *** teams, etc? It’s as if some feel we’re destined to be chumps and should be happy with our lot in life.

These refs were abysmal, one of the few games in my life where refs drove the game to a point it was out of control. Forget the blatantly unfair flags throwing the game, they caused the mayhem as well.

Vandy sucks. They pulled off a miracle win this year but in all other respects they are Vandy, perennial bottom feeder that everyone laughs at you or gets your coach fired for losing to. They’re the equivalent of Citadel or Furman. Nice schools but crap football program. A joke and we got humiliated here.

Going to be an off-season full of questions- how do we break this cycle of suck?

Difficult? Yes. Impossible? No. Control what you can control. Key always says focus on the next play. I agree with him on his philosophy.

We don't quite suck as much anymore.

Everything about this bowl game was awful. From the inability to efficiently get fans through the gate, awful routed foot traffic to maneuver through stadium, not opening gates when fans are trying to leave, then the horrible officiating on the field. This is not what a bowl game experience should be like.

You just described over 90% of college football teams. Two years ago we were an awful team.

Oh yea missing Singleton and Height actually matter this year.
I don’t disagree. I’m just not willing to call barely above .500 “good”. I wish we could get to, and stay in, 8-9 win territory instead of 6-7 win territory.

What key has done is inspiring. When Geoff was here, I pretty much (almost) quit watching games, and that is really saying something for me.
