Not comfortable with this news from the article:
  • Xzavion Curry * , Harwich Mariners – 0-1, 10.60 ERA, 3 GP, 3 GS, 9.1 IP, 7 SO
*no longer with the team

Hoping it's just fatigue from last year and giving him time to recover for next year. But it's GT baseball, so...
I believe that I read somewhere that this was planned so he could come back to Tech and get some things done.

Some notes on our players from D1Baseball:

Tristin English - wow this sounds good for us: Two-way prospect as both a RHP and OF, English shows plus raw power and arm strength as his top tools. Ran a 4.40 on a ground ball to shortstop and average-to-above average future defensive skills in the outfield. Likely will be given the chance to both hit and pitch in professional baseball, similar to recent MLB picks Tanner Dodson (California) and Brendan McKay (Louisville). Time will tell which position ultimately works out, but at this point his pitching ability profiles to a higher level on my looks.
English continues to improve after sitting out his sophomore season (2017) from Tommy John surgery. In a recent relief appearance he sat 90-94 mph with his fastball while flashing a plus slider at 84-85. Clean and compact arm action with moderate effort delivery. Lands soft. Fair down plane. Worked both sides with his fastball while challenging hitters. Slider was short and sharp, above average, future plus pitch. Controlled for repeated strikes and expanded when needed. Mixed in a changeup at 84 mph for his third pitch. Overall, English is an athletic strike-thrower who will need to develop more wiggle on his fastball. The down plane is decent, yet still needs some cut or sink. With the feel he already shows, it’s highly likely that he will be able to make this adjustment. With continued good health, English is a likely to be considered for early Day Two, even late in Day One for the 2019 draft.

Andy Archer: 6’5, 215 pounds. Athletic frame with a wide upper body and rounded shoulders. Aggressive finish over front side at end of delivery. Works from a high ¾ slot with quick, compact arm action. FB ranged from 87-91 mph, but given the frame there could be more velocity in his future. Slower CB at 68-70 mph that backed up at times. Average CH at 76-78 mph. Gave up lot of contact this summer, 20 hits in 13.2 IP, but managed to put up an impressive 17:3 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Chase Murray: 6’0, 190 pounds. Murray is a smooth athlete with a polished game. Low effort strides in the OF with average speed. Arm strength profiles best for CF/LF. Flashed a quick, compact swing from the left side. Barrel gets into the zone early and stays level thru contact. Hitting actions have rhythm and balance in the box. Good lift in the swing that projects for more power as he adds strength.

D1 Baseball just came out with their top 50 college pitchers for the 2019 draft. Tristin was 23rd and X was 33rd. So I think X is ok. Maybe we see him pitch next month .......

There is a lot of projected talent in the ACC. Duke (who magnificently took UGAg out of the 2018 NCAAs) has the #1 and #12 pitcher.
