Yes. I don’t mean this to disparage ESJ, who was a DGJ for 2 seasons. I have all the respect due the young man, thank him for his efforts, and wish him all the best in life. However, fast with pretty good hands is not all that difficult to find. In fact, looks like we may have already found it in Rivers. Right?

In Singleton's defense, he dropped a few but also made some very difficult catches.
I think Rivers is known to drop one now and then, too. The main improvement with Rivers is probably going to be that he runs better routes and gets open more.

Always seems odd that we fish on our players who transfer out. Singleton was a very good receiver. We have no idea if any of the inbound guys will be as good until they play games for GT. Heck until they do play a game there is no certainty they will play for GT.

And none of the guys are anywhere near a 10.3 100 meter guy. Very very few are.

I don’t fault Singleton for shopping around in this day and age. If I were the coaches I’d caution him of leaving situations that are already good for hypothetical situations.

Ahmerean Brown had a monster frosh year for us, was slated be the focal point of our offense, transferred to USCe, and it ruined his career / professional prospects.

Nate McCollum had two big years for us, was slated to be our #1 receiver, transferred to UNC, and it ruined his career / professional prospects.

If you’re already a #1 guy in a really good offense you need to weigh in the possibility of damage to future earnings into the math of what you’re being offered today.

You’ve got a Heisman candidate QB and a backup that’s shown he can sling it at Tech with what should be one of the best offenses in the country. The coaches have shown they’re committed to getting you the ball in creative ways. You’ve got question marks at Auburn. Not saying staying is the only right answer or that leaving couldn’t end up helping his future earnings - but there’s risk there with historical examples and that should be factored into the decision.

Yes, but it doesn’t take a 10.3 to stretch a field vertically. Even with that speed, he rarely had more than a step on his defenders, meaning the QB had to drop a dime at 50 yards downfield. That’s low percentage no matter the QB. Appeared his biggest catches were on sideline and seam routes.

Auburn signed two transfer QBs (including Stanford’s as a probable backup), and their QBs from this year have hit the portal. They’re turning over a lot of their roster.

Fast sprinter- keeps accelerating after 40 in straight line.

Fast WR - doesn't slow down in curve to get open ( stockton harpering, and rutherford) and quickly gets back to full speed

Will es get better as fast wr = yes and will be special....

Imo, King had direct order = no interceptions and only throw to WIDE OPEN receiver. A good receiver can get open after inital route is covered.

I think he wants to play for a vertical passing offense. Buster seems to like horizontal and diagonal offense. Is what it is. Chances of a return are not zero but as close as you can get

Therein lies one of the problems with NIL. It encourages players to suggest by word and action that they are head and shoulders above their current teammates. That is not the primary intention but that is the secondary fallout. How many players and coaches will understand that is just how the game is played now and how many will see it as destructive of the concept of team is an open question.

My UNC neighbor predicted this yesterday (his wife is a WF grad). I said ho hum to it then, but today he says Auburn wanted Singleton but could not meet his ask. There may not be money left for a high dollar WR in the Auburn NIL bag. We'll see if this is just gamesmanship in the negotiation.

We can't know because so much will be new.

Will we know if team is better? Other areas will have to get way better.

If we win 8 9 10 games it will be very slightly due to one wr and way more about much better the TE room is.

Last year for te passing receptions we were plugging in wr and freshman.

With more 6-5" TE ( just got sr te from Cal and r sr Sithers ) who can catch we can get chunk yards UTM if lb don't back off.

I think it's all up to Key to be aggressive and trust King to make the throws to TE.

Imo, that will open up wr down field and rb swing passss ( count on superman and the young rb to get good passing yards.

Key is building UATW

Allen from Buford is extremely fast. Maybe not quite Singleton but pretty close.
