There would be some potential safety issues. We did play 8 on 7 sometimes in practice so the offensive linemen could practice working up to safeties....
for option based run blocking or really anything with a read, it would probably be counterproductive. you could make the right read and be punished.

one common tactic is to script where the scout team lines up and goes, so they give a "faster" look than someone who is reading the play.

AJ has good size and speed.

AJ's speed hasn't really shown up this year - particularly with all the preseason hype by PJ himself. He has played well in spurts, but he is not playing anywhere close to a special player at safety. I wonder what has happened? Is it just a slump? scheme? It is puzzling. Meanwhile, Corey Griffin has played well despite my misgivings.
