Apparently, he had been suffering from seizures for the past few months. Just hope it wasn't all football-related. Everything to do with the brain injuries and CTE effects we've seen recently has made me question my support of American Football. RIP Bay Bay. He clearly lived a very full life and brought a lot of joy to many people especially off of the field.

If I heard correctly it was lingering from a car crash earlier this year or last.

I often use DT on this board as an example of someone who comes to GT and overcomes their environment. Regardless of where you come from, if you put in the work and focus on what you want, stay away from people/things that disrupt your goals, you can lift yourself out of whatever situation you came from. DT did just that, and he did it with a smile.

You don't know how much time you have in this life, so you should try to make the most of the time you have. DT did exactly that, and he changed the lives of his family even beyond his own life. Absolutely devastating loss, but if you look on Twitter and see the outpouring of love all of his teammates, friends, and coaches are putting out there for him, DT was someone who definitely not only made the most of his time in his short life, but he took the time to treat other people with kindness and respect on his way to success. That is a rare quality in this world where people sacrifice kindness and respect to meet their personal goals.

DT was the definition of a total GT man.
Well said!

I was hoping Gowdy would have a similar life story as Bay Bay coming through GT.

Both died tragically too soon.

C’mon folks. The last thing this thread needs is petty squabbling about reported cause of death.

Isn’t it enough to say that Demaryius Thomas represented the best of what GT sports wants to be, and that his early death is heartbreaking?

Who cares whether it was CTE, a car accident, a congenital heart defect, or a horrendous paper-cut accident?

A true light has gone out in this world. Weep for the loss, don’t bicker about the cause.

This was an absolute gut punch to wake up to this morning. All I can think of is the two of us in one of our 8am management classes trying our hardest not to laugh out loud at the other's joke. Phenomenal football player. Even better person. The earth was a better place with Bay Bay on it.
