This is GOOD too.I wish Coach Brumfield the best.
As for Coach Key, his standards are high. It’s his staff, his team, and his program. He ain’t kidding around.
We need to gracefully let it go. We have an able replacement and ST was good last game.
Move on.
Unlikely, from all appearances, this looks like something neither side wishes to discuss, much less litigate - discovery being what it is....Sad. And this could get pretty nasty if he has grounds to file a suit against us.
That appears to be what ESPN is saying...a head coach decision. https://www.espn.com/college-footba...rgia-tech-names-tim-salem-coach-special-teamsBK processed him
ESPN writes today: https://www.espn.com/college-footba...rgia-tech-names-tim-salem-coach-special-teams. Somebody in the administration needs to go public with the reason for the departure, or it will be believed that what ESPN stated is a fact. Silence leads to unnecessary speculation. Tim Salem is in his first season as a senior football advisor to the head coach (defense/special teams) at Georgia Tech and coached alongside Coach Key at UCF.Unlikely, from all appearances, this looks like something neither side wishes to discuss, much less litigate - discovery being what it is....
Disagree... Sometimes it is just a coincidence. It’s way too big of a coincidence that ST’s sucked and now he’s gone
Something needs to published, even if the departure is for personal reasons or whatever. The impression is that it is for performance issues. Something similar happened last Christmas break when an assistant basketball coach was "departed" without reasons given by the head coach. I assume the players were told something and eventually it will be leaked out if not made public by the GTAA.@Tommy_Taylor_1972 @augustabuzz @UgaBlows the ESPN article has one fact related to the firing—that the AA released a two sentence statement.
They appended comments from a previous press conference about special teams performance
There is no indication the two are related, other than ESPN putting them side by side
There is also no information that Key fired anyone—just that Brumfield isn’t with the program any longer. It could be a resignation, or it could be from the AA.
If I were an AA lawyer, I might send ESPN a friendly note that they’ve conflated two things that we did not, and that our only comment about the matter was in the statement. If there is liability, it looks to be ESPN’s liability.
Whatever comes out should probably come from Coach Brumfield. There is no way in **** that the school can disclose reasons for dismissal. That's grounds for a lawsuit from my background dealig with terminating people in the workforce.. Tech is better served by letting those so inclined to speculate do that rather than make a comment from a liability standpoint. This will be forgotten by the public by Thursday morning imo.Something needs to published, even if the departure is for personal reasons or whatever. From the look of the statement, lawyers have informed the AA exactly what should go into a statement, and it’s as little as possibleSomething needs to published, even if the departure is for personal reasons or whatever. Exactly! Any "clarification" is simply fodder for plaintiff's counsel. From the look of the statement, lawyers have informed the AA exactly what should go into a statement, and it’s as little as possible
