Does today change anyone's opinion of GT's place in the order?

I really don't think today's dealings say that much about GT in general rather the state of the program. This team needs legitimately 3 years to get back to competitiveness while Vandy already has most of the pieces to do it right now. I think that plays a lot into it.

Also $$$ talks.

Well I ranked us 11th in the ACC anyways. It’s just we now know the ~7th best job in the SEC is better than the 11th best in the ACC.

Current view
1) Duke. no question
2) UVA. history and on a roll. very supportive alums. hoops bigger than football
3) Louisville. see UVA. hoops bigger than football
4) Syracuse. ditto. hoops bigger than football
5) Notre Dame. same as UVA except football dwarfs hoops
6) N C State. Potential. Great fan support. History. Hoops bigger than football.
7) Tech. Success in the 80s. Recruiting potential. Great facilities. Football dwarfs hoops. Fans don't show up for hoop games or support the team
8) Miami. Larranaga has them on the rise. Hoops will never be bigger than football here. Indifferent fan base. Good recruiting footprint
9) FSU. Steady success under Hamilton. Some history. Football dominates. Decent fan support. Tallahassee is a backwater
10) Wake. Always playing second fiddle to the big 3 in state. Fans turn on coaches in a heartbeat and are vicious
11) Boston College. Has history but fans are indifferent. Boston is a pro sports town. Should be great recruiting turf
12) Pitt. Meh. Pro sports town. No history.
13) Clemson. Hoops viewed as something to do to pass time between bowl game and spring practice.
14)

not ranked: UNC. No coach would want to take over a school about to be hit with the biggest NCAA penalties in history. When they return from death penalty in 10 or 12 years, they will be a shell of their former self
