Another reason why the Ford family is a joke!Sad news.....the Wreck will not be making the trip to the place of it's birth . Ford Field has refused to allow it to be on the field. The GTAA will not fund the transport without that aspect.
Any idea why Ford Field won't allow it? It's not like it's going to tear up anything, and it's been used for every other bowl game we've been to. If they want to have a meaningful bowl game, they sure shouldn't piss off the fans of a participating school.
Since you are apparently the local alum in charge, so to speak, is there anyway you can make a personal appeal to the Ford Field people? After all the Wreck IS a Ford. They should be proud to have it there.
This came from the Alumni association, If they and GTAA can't make it happen, I won't make any difference.
You never know till you try. A personal appeal from a local Detroit person might have SOME influence. Hell, write a letter to the newspaper, or contact the local TV stations about it. Shame them, if nothing else. LOL I would love to know their reasoning (EXCUSES) for it.

This is going to be incredibly weird, but until this month on this board, I have *never* seen the Wreck referred to as the Reck. Nothing in the school while I was there spelled it that way apart from the Reck Club. GT doesn't even hold a trademark on "Ramblin' Reck", only the W variety. Honestly, would everyone rather be in NYC freezing in a baseball stadium or Detroit in a dome? I get the date is horrible but you couldn’t pay me to sit in the Bronx and watch a game from left field in 30 degree weather! Just takes longer for them to get from Atlanta to Michigan than from Atlanta to Augusta. I got mine the same day they sent them out.
