Satt got 6 years $3.25/yr at Louisville if anyone's interested in what the market is dictating. Will be interesting to see the pool he gets for his assistants.

The insanity of college football economics — and amateur entertainment at that — is way past ridiculous. And I am neither socialist nor liberal. Also: NBA contracts for even mediocre players.

One reason KW may be a good fit if because he is a very good offensive mind. The new coach, most probably, will have to take a bunch of players who were recruited to play in the 3O,
and use them in a different offense. It will take someone very experienced in designing an offense to do that transition, and not take 2-3 years to do so. This is assuming we are going
away from a 3O.
We aren't hiring him just to be an offensive mind. GT needs a defense. CPJ is one of the best collegiate minds on the planet, and our defense has struggled for eleven years under him. I never wanted CPJ to leave, but if he leaves, I want a coach who can win with both sides of the ball, not just be an OC in disguise.

Also:
Tennessee Titans had the 29th and 32nd best offense in 2014 and 2015 while under KW. Arizona with KW as HC was 19th, 15th, 13th, 31st, 28th, and 19th. These are not ranking of an offensive wizard. When he is an OC, he seems to do good work. As a HC I am still not impressed.

Look, I don't dislike the guy, and I have said many times, I would have certainly interviewed the guy. We need to slow the talk on him being some offensive guru when he has been unable to prove an ability to be a head coach and lead a good offense at the same time. I wish nothing but success for him going forward, if that is as the GT head coach then awesome. I would prefer if he learns how to be a head coach in Wisconsin though.

There is an ajc article, now nothing is really negative, but doesn’t sound like a ringing endorsement. It seems to me he is a really good guy, but not HC material.

Yeah, that article did more harm than good, in my opinion. Everyone came off a little too diplomatic.

Yes, Jeff Monken- because he's going to do what Paul Johnson does better than Paul frickin Johnson. I think the option's just lovely . . . when an NFL OG, two NFL draft pick WRs, 6 Sr backs in your two deep, and a 4 star DB recruit flipped from Bama playing QB (prior to injuries that slowed him down) fall in your lap fortuitiously. Unfortunately, those jimmies and joes are hard to duplicate year in and year out. Otherwise it's a 6-8 win deal with the best damn coach on Earth at running it.

Take away the "GT" in his bio, and what kind of candidate do you have?

Is that the new talking point? That the "haters" just didn't understand the offense lol?

It’s that they don’t understand any of it actually. The O, the D, recruiting, coaching searches.

Tech fans may be good at math but I no longer have any reason to believe they are proficient critical thinkers.

I am glad I am oncall at work, or my performance would be plummeting.

The first thing I thought when I saw his name was "who?".

What? You missed the 161 pages of melt down posts in this thread? I assumed you were aware since you yourself are posting here. If you classify this thread as an exercise in critical thinking then.....
