Anyone know what Collins and/or Elliott's salaries are currently ?
collins is around 2 millionAnyone know what Collins and/or Elliott's salaries are currently ?
God I hope we don't hire whiz. This video says a lot. Lienart was a bit of a prima donna so take it fwiw.
He has no history of being able to do this. What if Whis is just like Chan Gailey, except that he can develop quarterbacks?
If it is Geoff Collins, can we wait and see if he can beat Duke first?
Ironic that Collins was Mississippi State’s DC in the 2014 Orange Bowl?
“Prior to his time at Florida, Collins was a member of the coaching staff at Mississippi State. Originally hired to serve as the linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator for the 2011 season, Collins was promoted to the position of defensive coordinator in 2013.
Mississippi State had tremendous success while he was on the coaching staff, most notably the 2014 season, when the Bulldogs when they were ranked #1 in the country for most of the season and finished with a 10-3 record. This 10-win season was the best finish at the school in 15 years, and concluded with a berth in the Orange Bowl.”
collins is around 2 million
elliot around 900k or so
imo collins would come here for the same salary with incentives tied into performance...thats how I would negotiate it. However at tech we tend to blow our loads
I have since amended that post, since you are not the first person who has reached out to me about that report
Take this for what it's worth, but a friend with an inside source, says the Whiz deal was all smoke and mirrors, and that Collins is the man. I know nothing at all about Collins, but as long as it's not Whiz, I think I can deal with it.
I have multiple sources. Unfortunately, they have nothing to do with football, coaching hires, or GT for that matter.
That should not stop your sources from being quoted here, and thus leading to another 150 pages.
Given that, I would think we would be more attractive to Elliott, Collins loyalties not with withstanding
so here is the thing about geoff. I remember him well. He is a bigtime GOL tree guy. He loved tech, and being on that staff. I remember him as a GA, talked to him a bit he worked on O; BOB was our RB coach. It was a really solid tree. When GOL left he did, he kinda had too. Chan kept BOB; but wanted to do some different things. Geoff probably would have gone with GOL to ND.
After a few years he kinda begged/badgered/borrowed and stealed to get back here on Chans staff. So he got kinda an admin job. He was a really strong recruiter; did a good job; but couldn't turn down Bama. He made a bad choice trying to pull kids from us there, gave it a bad taste in everyones mouth. I wouldn't say he burnt bridges so much as didn't need to do it. But he was a young dude, trying to make a splash, fiery type. Very ambitious.
Geoff wants to be here. For sure.
The only problem is this. He has a track record of it too. He was tech Dr of personnel. left after one year for the same position at bama...school upgrade.
He was DC for Miss St for a short time. Left, to UF for same position. School upgrade.
He went to temple, short time, HC, maybe now Tech in same position, school upgrade.
He has lived in more cities in the Southeast than most I know of over a short tenure.
So if this is our coach, IF, then tech needs a hefty buyout on his end. Because either way we will be stuck with his pricetage if we fire him. Otherwise...he could do ok here for 2 years and make a splash and be gone in a heartbeat IMO.
He hasn’t recruited a prospect since the mid 90’s.From Georgia. Supposedly a good recruiter. Pretty young. Defensive guy. Allegedly really wants the job.
