Portal intakes

I have to disagree. We recruit wide receivers every year out of high school. We also have gotten WR's from the portal each of the last two years. It didn't seem to bother him then, so why would it bother him now? Wide receivers have it in their DNA that they are better than everyone else. I seriously doubt that Malik was afraid of any competition. He has spent the entire year getting all kinds of exposure from his ESPN highlights to being the darling of the ACCN guys getting interviewed every time they carried one of our games. All that exposure brought the money guys to his doorstep. You can't convince me that he is entering the portal for any other reason. What is odd, however, is why he would wait for the next portal period to do it. I know he loves playing so I guess he thinks he can have his cake and eat it too by playing in the bowl game and then entering the portal. Either that, or coach asked him to play and then enter. If that's the case then fine let him play. Otherwise no way he should suit up.
Unless I’m missing someone, we only brought in one new receiver last year (Canion). Zero through the portal. We lost about 4 bodies at the position, but only one played (Blaylock). I don’t think they felt the need to replace those guys because everyone of note was returning, including an injured/unproven Blackburn. Before last year, everyone was new essentially at WR, transfers and unproven young guys like Singleton and Malik, even though he had already been on the team a year, he was overshadowed by Nate.

Makes you wonder how many more we will take. I’m counting the following:
- 12 outgoing
- 13 incoming

Anyone have any idea how many spots we have left?

Saw something somewhere saying we're looking to take 2 more DLs but one or both could come in 2025 rather than now. Maybe they're still p;laying and we know who they are, is that possible the way the portal works if they announce they're in the portal? Also isn't there another portal announcement period after spring practice?

HS was no.37 player in FL, 5.8 4-star per Rivals. Played a lot 1st 2 yrs at Oregon St, was pretty productive.

Has 2 yrs left and hopefully keeps improving. Good rotation guy for LB corps, nice front 7 depth piece.

"He was the highest rated Beavers defender per, Pro Football Focus."

Too smiley for a DT, needs to work on his Nesbitt face
Anybody else think JFN would have made a great DT? What he lacked in size he made up for in heart. One of my all-time favorites just to watch him play the game like a man. I must say... Haynes King is moving very close to that territory, too.
