Two hours after another WR commits? Not buying it.
Exactly. To me this is 110% a reaction to the Dean Patterson announcement.

However, he has been using that “walking” emoji a lot. The first time was on a picture of him doing the “make it rain” hand gesture in the UGA game. To me that says either “I walk the walk” OR “pay me or I’m walking.” (I can’t believe I’m analyzing a kids cryptic emojis and hand gestures)

I say all of this to say…maybe he informed the staff early that he wants to stay, but would like some more funds. They said maybe. They potentially flat out told ES no to his number and that’s why he left early. Maybe it’s a combo of money and FIU guys. Maybe Malik is thinking… “you ain’t sure if you can pay me more, your proven guy who’s been a day 1, but you’re gonna go out and get these guys?”

Patterson is 6-2 202 lb. Totally different kind of receiver.

IMO Malik told the coaches he was likely to be leaving and we got the kid from USC-e and the all-american from FIU to help offset he and Singleton.

I love Malik and ESJ and the guys we are bringing in have also been extremely productive. We'll be fine. Coaches are on it.

I don’t think the type of receiver matters. It’s the fact that we’re bringing in receivers period.

Dean Patterson announces, Malik tweets “walking” emoji right after, then retweets Hayes Fawcetts tweet that states Malik is planning to enter, only with a “period” in the text. Connect the dots.

This is the time when kids enter and exit the portal. The entrances and exits coincide. It's the way it works.

You may be right but I really dont think it makes sense to try and connect dots here. Ascribing causality to an inherently coincidental phenomenon is dubious at best.

Again you may be right in this specific instance. I just see speculation though and no real evidence.

I have to disagree. We recruit wide receivers every year out of high school. We also have gotten WR's from the portal each of the last two years. It didn't seem to bother him then, so why would it bother him now? Wide receivers have it in their DNA that they are better than everyone else. I seriously doubt that Malik was afraid of any competition. He has spent the entire year getting all kinds of exposure from his ESPN highlights to being the darling of the ACCN guys getting interviewed every time they carried one of our games. All that exposure brought the money guys to his doorstep. You can't convince me that he is entering the portal for any other reason. What is odd, however, is why he would wait for the next portal period to do it. I know he loves playing so I guess he thinks he can have his cake and eat it too by playing in the bowl game and then entering the portal. Either that, or coach asked him to play and then enter. If that's the case then fine let him play. Otherwise no way he should suit up.

Yeah, maybe. But I also just thought that it’s a good opportunity to let the coaches evaluate backups against a real team for the following season.
Some fans like spring practice games but most don’t. Fans get the idea of extra practice and evaluation as a good thing but the bowls have to make a certain amount of money for them to be worthwhile for all concerned, and fans and advertisers are probably not going to pay big bucks for practice games.

For Gt
Bham is great opportunity- against quality program.
Close for fans, not very expensive so i am bring friends, great area future recruits get to gt ascending,
AND Gt is planning on younger OL recruited in past getting starts in 25, have quality backups at qb.
To me i am hoping Key plans this to win -but with an air of letting the quality back ups get quality playing time.

I am excited to see the young guys.

This is more like a spring game - just against other team but without new portals. Spfing game will be more fun to see progress of young guys as we add portal.
