Redshirting players at Tech makes no sense if they can play. Many players will get their degree in three years and then transfer with their GT degree and two years left to play. We develop them, give them a degree and they give their best years to someone else. Sigh.

I do like the incoming freshman and the current freshman and the red shirt freshman.
Should be more athletic.

But we are back to being a young ol.

Just need better play by September.

Agreed. I don't really understand OL and why they essentially play every snap of the game. They're banging all game long, pulling, blocking downfield. These are big guys moving a lot of mass. But, at every level they seem to play just about every snap.

I believe it’s the communication between the OL players and the trust they have that each guy will instinctively know what the others are doing regardless of what the defense is doing.

Of course I haven’t played OL in well over 50 years

You have to earn it.
6'5" son played in college.
He would not walk at Nebraska and play he added weight
Here s the deal - you have to earn it in practice and weight room. Then you get to show you can move and still fight off the dl. This is closely watched. If you watch the players side line gou see the ol huddle. The stsrters are in sests with coach talkjng. Behind them are the #2. Also #2 are watching their starter every play on sideline.
The switches/ double teams done seamless and at speed can take years and one injury cause a major set back.
It is vital that back ups are ready.

Some years there is major turn over in starters and some young fast feet guys emerge.

I understand what you're saying, but I saw a number of interior OL basically OLAY DL and stay in the game. Not sure I agree it's about earning it and maintaining it.
