I always look at that 2010 class and think about how pumped I was about the D-Line prospects we got that year (Denzel McCoy, Anthony Williams, and Shawn Green were the headliners) and the prospects we got in the secondary (two 4-star CBs in Ryan Ayers and Louis Young).

Average players = average results.

Yep, this is so true. We are competing with schools like Air Force and Wofford for recruits right now. Until that changes, we can expect 5-7 wins per year.

This is such bulls**t

It's a fact.

I take it you are happy with how we've recruited the past few years?

I have not pulled the stats but I wonder how long it has been since we have finished with a top 3 class in our own conference?

Georgia Tech has finished with a top 3 class in the ACC only 1 time in school history. We have always been below average at recruiting, it’s not a recent development.

Quit trying to put words in my mouth. You assertion was garbage based on facts. I'm not sure Tech has ever had a top 3 class in conference, so?

As to the classes of '16, '17 and how '18 is shaping up, yes I am happy. If you're not you're blind to the talent being brought in.

Kinda insane how lopsided the 4 star recruits are on the defensive side versus offensive side since CPJ has been here. It kinda highlights what I've said in some threads:

1. Our defense should be much better during this time span. Most of our talented recruits we've signed have been on the defensive side of the ball.

2. Elite offensive recruits do not want to play in this offense. Not saying that it's an issue for our offense as our offense has always been the team's strength, but elite talent does make a big difference against the top of the conference opponents (see the scorefest vs Clemson both times we played them in 2009, FSU 2009, Deandre Smelter + JeT in 2014, etc.).

If we are bringing in good talent then why is it not translating to more wins on the field?

My argument here is we have not been getting it done in regards to recruiting and the lack of wins the past 3 years has shown us that.

The recruiting has only really picked up the last 3 years. Those players are still young and next year the oldest will be juniors or RS sophomores. The talent is there, it's just young and for the most part inexperienced right now.

Your argument was Tech is recruiting against Air Force and Wofford, don't walk it back now that you've been shown to be foolish.

'15 I'm not even going to address if you don't know what happened that season you don't follow Tech football, 9 wins in '16 and a mixed up '17 being a handful of plays away from 8-9 wins. Was '17 players? coaches? or both? It's already been shown the TALENT is there so I don't know what happened in '17 but I trust both the players and the coaches to see that '18 is not a repeat of '16.

Regarding Air Force/Wofford....did you see the offer list from out latest running back commit? Let me know what see there.

I truly hope the kids brought in the past few classes pan out for us. I love our school and want nothing more than for us to succeed. I just see history repeating itself lately.

Back to recruiting - for example, an "elite" QB is graduating from the ATL metro area this year. He is even considered a dual-threat QB and the kid is not even considering us due to the system we run. It's tough to win 9+ games a year if you can't recruit elite talent.
